Are there adapters that are needed to attach the power distributer to the speed controllers since this year the motors are smaller than previous years?

Also, are there any x-braces for the bottom of the motors to be attached like the ones from previous years?

I haven't tried to put this new set together. I will take a look at it on Friday and post what I find.

The wires are much smaller. You may need to get a little creative to solder them into bullet connectors.

There are not x-braces for the bottom of the motors.

Good Afternoon,

When will the instructions page be updated so we can program with CleanFlight and whatnot? None of the links are working still.

Thanks

I haven't had time to try to install the flight software yet.

Openpilot has been discontinued. Though the drivers we used a while ago should still work: Old Open Pilot Drivers: https://groups.google.com/d/msg/antigravitygames/1x6kWKAa4P8/TdTuqAMoLgAJ

LibrePilot says that our board (OpenPilot CC3D) is supported: https://librepilot.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/LPDOC/pages/31588369/Supported+Hardware
LibrePilot would be the replacement for Openpilot.

I think Cleanflight will also work but I haven't tried it out yet.

Ok, I got LibrePilot to work.

Install.

Plug in your Flight Controller (FC), the mini CC3D.

When I did this, windows setup installed a device driver.

It installed something called "CopterControl."

***Mine did not at first. I had to change to a different USB cable. To the one that came with my phone. Apparently some USB cables don't support data transfer. So if your computer is not seeing the FC try a different USB cable.***

Run the program LibrePilot GCS.

Click on Firmware:

In the bottom right of the Firmware screen you should see that your FC is connected.

Then click on upgrade. Don't mess with it while it is flashing the board or you might end up with a brick (non-functioning board).

After a sucessful Upgrade, click ok. All of the "dials" to the right should start working.

We have tried everything to get the mini cc3d fc to communicate. We installed librepilot on three different computers (win10, win8 and xp) and tried multiple good usb cables. It never comes up in device manager and drivers are never installed. I'm starting to think it's just bad.

Is this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQ6YaV1SIp0 normal blue led behavior?

The lights look ok. Mine still blinks like that when connected.

On my PC the driver comes up as CopterControl:

Thanks for your reply. Still no luck. I've read that it should come up as a USB Composite Device once the CopterControl drivers are installed but it never shows up in device manager at all (even as an unknown device) and it never prompts for drivers to be installed. I've been connecting to it with the USB cable only. Does it also need system power?  It has 5V printed on the top but can it be powered straight from the battery or will that fry it?

It will get power through the USB cable.
You might try plugging it in while Device Manager is open and see if it adds a new USB Composite Device to the list. If it does, delete/uninstall the added device, unplug the FC then plug it back in.

We will be setting up some workshops soon and I can take a look at it directly.

You can contact Jolene Wood to see if she can switch your FC.
