Hi Guys,

Google have made a few changes to Chrome OS recently and consequently we have had to update DroidScript to match, So if you have a Chromebook that supports Android, then you will want to use our new alpha release instead of the version available in Google Play as that one shows up as the wrong size. (The Chromebook version should be maximize-able and look like the WiFi editor)

Here is where you can get the new alpha:-  androidscript.org/alpha/DroidScript_155a1

Note: We are doing our testing on the Lenovo N22 at the moment, but the following models should be a good value choice too:-

Acer Chrombook R11

Asus Chromebook flip C100P

List of other Chrome books that support Android:-

Please Note: Two finger scroll and mouse wheel do not currently work in the code editor, please use Ctrl+DownArrow

You may also have to switch your Chromebook into developer mode in order to install APKs and you can find instructions for doing this here:-

(if that's too scary for you then you will have to wait for the next official release of DroidScript)

Is the effort still ongoing to support Chromebook in the released Android version of DS?

On the pixelbook the screen is not centered and left hand side is cut off.

I have not tried the Chromebook version, yet.

Thanks

Absolutely, yes.  The next release of DS will have more Chromebook support than the current version.

Please try out this alpha version on your Chromebook and let us know what is missing or not working.

I installed the new spk but the screen is off to one side. See attached screen shot of the edit screen.
On the main screen the only object (or button) is the Hello World icon.

Shrink or enlarge the app size does not help.

Hardware=Pixelbook

Thanks

I assume you meant you installed the APK not the SPK right?

If so, then something has gone very wrong because you should be seeing the Wifi editor style editor instead of the Android style editor on Chromebooks.  It looks like that device is not being detected as a Chromebook.

Please try and get the results of the app.GetModel() method for me

Also, what version of Chrome are you running?

Thanks for that info Dennis,

My code was looking for "Chromebook" in the model name.. will add "PixelBook" too for next release (coming soon).

Please help test the next alpha release on your PixelBook
