the SIGABRT issue is affecting on android 7.1 all GPUs and its cause is security related.

Now, in marshmallow mid november security patch caused the similar issue to other projects

but I can't see a valid reason why a logging process should ABORT, meaning "self-destruct the OS core processes"
if it cannot open a file descriptor because of a path not whitelisted

FWIW I  have added to whitelist the path "/android/system/etc/event-log-tags"

Well to be honest I don't know about how big the security threat is,
but reverting commit 9c20939 in project frameworks/base (in nougat-x86 branch)
is a workaround to avoid the SIGABRT

xfinity tv app from Google playstore worked fine for me......

all my subscribed channels I tried played ok....no issues

It looks like the path that Zygote is reading includes the outer portion of the chroot ("/android/..."). Maybe:

i use http://dl.android-x86.org/houdini/6_x/houdini.sfs on nougat 7.1，Baidu input work well.

Mesa 13.0.2 has reverts of eglSwapBuffersWithDamageKHR patches, which were causing trouble (SIGSEGV MAPERR) with radensi,

but should not cause any regression as the core code for  eglSwapBuffersWithDamage was unchanged.

The other change is rebase to latest libdrm:  https://cgit.freedesktop.org/mesa/drm

but these changes should not be causing the app crashes,

if you see crashes or Applications Not Responding please provide dmesg, logcat

For example I saw:

- transparent rendering issues in Rajawali, even on Intel GPUs

- houdini seem to crash with Android 7.1

- MTP (?) crashes

- Google Chrome crashes

but when I said that I could finally boot, I was not implying that 7.1 is not affected by issues,

infact it is still experimental and affected by several issues.

So as a proposal, please let's collaborate to highlight the issues with dmesg, logcat and conducting bugs triaging.

The published iso is android_x86-eng  and is experimental and can fry your hardware (!)

but mayonnaise and ketchup are in any case not provided, be warned :-) 

Here is another experimental iso (vanilla kernel 4.9rc8, mesa 13.1.0devel rabase , latest libdrm, framework/base whitelisted paths workaround, llvm 3.8.0 with AMDGPU target "boosted to 3.8.1")
