Made another test build of Nougat, this time with kernel 4.12 stable
(64bit kernel, 32bit userland).

As with my other builds, main target device is T100TA, but you're
welcome to test on other devices as well.

I love how fast this build is on the Dell Venue Pro 3845, but I want to know if I could build with your changes somehow. Do you have them uploaded to github or something?

Yep it appears hardware decoding still doesn't play well with OpenGL.
Will look into that, but my understanding of OpenGL is limited.
But at least video in Chrome now works fine.

Hi Povilas.
A bit regression from 4.12 rc3 (in my case of course), same results as 4.12 rc3 (reported in this thread) but now sound not working, but instead power button works. Thanks for including GNSS will try and report.

I tried to run this on my Dell Venue 8 Pro (2013 model) and it does not boot. I get an error about getprops not being found..

I can boot the current release of Android x86 (7.1-rc1) but only with nomodeset which disables graphics acceleration from what I can tell. I was hoping that the updated kernel (4.12) in your img would allow my DVP8 to boot without nomodeset.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Works well in live mode with a usb or when I point grub to system.sfs. can't get Android to start when using system.IMG. Here's a screenshot in debug mode:.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_2WZKRTYU6TNjdmUDROdlJUZm8/view?usp=drivesdk

In live mode, the build looks nice. It fixes screen issues, brightness, the camera light isn't stuck on... And probably some other things I didn't get around to test yet.

Thanks for the build!

Povilas,

Perhaps I missed it somewhere but what is the difference between the previous build and the Baytrail build in terms of source modifications? I've tried multiple defconfig files but none of them seem to work well with Baytrail.

Thanks!

It's the Atom ISP driver.

When MT9M114 sensor driver loads, it turns off the camera light. Too bad
that's all it does for now, as the ISP driver itself does not work yet,
even with ISP switched to PCI mode.

Thanks for building this, very good job! The first jul12 version almost works perfectly on my T100HA (cherry-trail z8500) wifi, sound works, video doesn't play on youtube and bluetooth/rotation do not work though. I was trying to use the jul18 version but the Gapp crashes.

Same case:

dpm_run_callback(): platform_pm_suspend+0x0/0x45 returns -5
[  482.226472] PM: Device alarmtimer failed to suspend: error -5
[  482.247156] PM: Some devices failed to suspend, or early wake event detected

But in my case the screen seems to be completly off.

Hey Povilas :) I added your patch sets to https://github.com/jwrdegoede/linux-sunxi after the rebase went smoothly, folowed the directions, but the result was quite different in speed and responsiveness. I even tried the patch sets on top of 4.12 & 4.13rc2, same result. So I am curious what else could be different. I couldn't get git to recognize the .git in your packaged kernel, that's why I'm asking.

As with my other builds, main target device is T100TA, but you're
welcome to test on other devices as well.
