_Memento_: Limited Edition navigation (SPOILERS!)

and the menu navigation (especially on Disc 2, where the extras are) is
mildly confusing to get used to: I'm sure I'm still missing a feature or
two. So I figured I'd try to start a thread for people to post their
navigation discoveries to.
Here's what I've got so far. Comments and corrections welcomed.
DISC ONE:
* "Watch" to view the film;
* "Read" to choose sub-titles (choose "Y" for question 3 or 4);
* "Listen" to choose audio format (choose "Y" for appropriate format);
* "Comments" to hear Nolan's commentary (choose "D");
* "Chapter" to see scene selections (note that the only selectable
letter for a given chapter corresponds to the "right" answer for the
question on that chapter).
DISC TWO:
The extras explicitly listed on the packaging are fairly easy to find:
there's one associated with each of the "active" items (drawing compass,
clock, book, globe, skull, binoculars) on the main menu.
You have to press <ENTER> some number of times to get to the extra: this
equates to choosing "C" on the "A/B/C/D/E" menu screens. To get to these
basic extras, it doesn't seem to matter what you choose on the
intervening screens.
Note that these are not the *only* ways to get to these extras (or even
necessarily the *best* ways): they're just the ways I've discovered so
far.
Short story "Memento Mori" by Jonathan Nolan:
* Wait through main menu animation (1m 25s)
* Click on "Mori" (upper center of screen)
* Navigate with arrow keys
Stills/production sketch gallery:
* Select drawing compass (first row, second column)
* Press <ENTER> or "C" four times
* Navigate with arrow keys
Journal (unadvertised feature):
* Enter stills/production sketch gallery (as above)
* Click "EXIT"
* Press <ENTER> or "C" twice
"Chronological" edit of film (unadvertised feature):
* Select clock (third row, third column)
* Press <ENTER> or "C" five times
* Select pictures in order (3), (4), (1), (2)
(N.B. On my Panasonic RP-91, I can't chapter or speed forward or
backward in this edit, but I *can* enter timecodes and jump to them.)
Director's script:
* Select book (second row, fourth column)
* Press <ENTER> or "C" twice
* Use "angle" button to switch between script and film
International poster art:
* Select globe (first row, fifth column)
* Press <ENTER> or "C" four times
"Anatomy of a Scene" featurette:
* Select skull (fourth row, fifth column)
* Press <ENTER> or "C" thrice
Trailers (US and international):
* Select binoculars (first row, sixth column)
* Press <ENTER> or "C" five times
DISC TWO: ALTERNATE NAVIGATION
The short-cut for some of the features is the "ring" of cards (the ones
that have additional cards to the left and right as they come up to fill
the screen). Selecting "A" or "B" moves you leftward through the ring:
selecting "D" or "E" moves you rightward. Selecting "C" on the screens
with *sound* -- every third screen, I believe -- leads you to features:
Woman with mirror/"escape": Journal
Woman changing tire (3/4/1/2): "Chronological" edit of film
(N.B. From this screen, you can only go left or right by choosing
pictures in an "incorrect" order. Any choice starting with the first
picture will take you to the right, any choice starting with the second
picture will take you left. Starting with the fourth picture takes you
"forward," i.e., off the "ring.")
Story about twins (Jim and John): Director's script
Missing pieces/objects: "Anatomy of a Scene"
Light bulbs/switches puzzle: Trailers
Matching five pictures of woman: International poster art
...and then you're back to the start of the "ring."

There's a "menu" that will let you jump directly to five of the special
features on Disc Two (specifically, the trailers, "Anatomy of a Scene"
featurette, director's script, stills/sketches gallery, and
international poster art). To get to it:

* Press <ENTER> or "C" five times
* Choose "E" on the third screen (jigsaw puzzle question)
* Choose features using "A", "B", "C", "D", "E"

It's a miracle. I just got my "Memento: Limited Edition" in the
mail today. I haven't even had a chance to open it up yet. Lucky me, I
find your post first. Not being a patient man, I'm sure I would have
slit my wrists with the DVD if I had to discover all this by myself.

I don't have a copy of _Memento: Limited Edition_ and I probably never
will. However, when all else fails in your search for extras, you can
always try the "Title" feature of your DVD player. I think that all of
the information -- Easter Eggs and all -- are registered as "titles" on
DVDs. Sometimes, you can bypass the menus and gain direct access to
these titles. The Title access feature will not work until you actually
begin playing one of the special features.
On Sony players, I go into the special features of disks and then begin
playing one of the installments. As soon as the feature begins, I can
then press the "Display" button on the remote and a menu then displays
Title, Chapter, Audio, Angle, Subtitle etc. I can then highlight Title
and the number of the title playing will be displayed next to the total
number of titles available. At this time, I can key in an available
title number, press Enter and the title will begin to play -- on some
discs. High-end Sony models also have a title viewer which creates
thumbnail views of all available titles -- on some discs.
Even if you are locked out of direct access title play, you will still
be able to see the total number of titles available and compare this
total with the number of items that you have already found.

If you're hearing garbled (reversed) gibberish toward the end of the
commentary track on the _Memento_ Limited Edition disc, rest assured

version: make sure you're listening to the commentary track when you go
from Chapter 13 to Chapter 14.)
