Was watching the epp "The Price of Tomato Juice" where Frank faces off
with Igor in the food line and says "What's your name fella" and Igor
responds with "Maxwell, Sir". Was that a slip up? Considering his
character was Igor Straminsky. Jeff looked like he knew what he did
but didn't break up laughing.

No slip up. That's how the line was written.

I caught that, too. It wasn't until the end of the episode when it hit me,
though. Pretty funny

Speaking of Jeff Maxwell .... I bought a tv guide crossword puzzle book today,
and opened it up. First page I turned to, one of the clues was: "Jeff Maxwell
on M*A*S*H"!!!!!!! cracked me up -- right in the checkout lane of the
supermarket!

What was the word? Igor? cook?

I don't know -- I haven't looked at it since I got home. I'll let you know tho
LOL

PS. ... I AM a bit upset that Jeff Maxwell's name wasn't on the petition
signed by Mike Farrell, Larry Gelbart and Loretta Swit. Also missing was Mr.
Alda. (that actually surprised me more)

I don't have a link, but it's a recent petition that was signed by a
number of other actors, plus some musicians and other prominent
figures, calling on the Bush adminitstration to NOT go to war with
Iraq. I haven't read the text but from what I gather it is simply a
statement that all diplomatic conflicts in this issue (between Iraq
and the US) should be resolved by peaceful action.

Aside from BJ and Hot Lips, some of the actors who signed it include
David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson of The X-Files (my other favourite
show), Tony Shalhoub from Monk (another show in my top 5), Tim
Robbins, Susan Sarandon, Samuel L Jackson, and a shitload of others.
You get the idea.

Farrell, and a listing of celebrities who've signed.

This morning I was flipping through AM radio while driving and I caught the
name Mike Farrell. It was Rush Limbaugh lambasting him. Now it all makes
sense.

Right! I did hear about that.
It figures Farrell would want to solve diplomatic conflicts between the US and
Iraq through peaceful means.
I guess they still don't understand that the president of Iraq, Mr. Madman
Insane, is not a rational player. He kills his own people.
I wonder if any of these celebs lost a friend or loved one on 9 / 11 from an
unprovoked terrorist attack like I did.
I wonder if they would feel the same way.
I would also guess that they don't understand that this isn't the same as any
other war.

Did the terrorists try a peaceful means before killing some 3100 people? Did
terrorists try peaceful means before blowing up people, children included?

The allied forces in the Gulf War tried peaceful means for weeks. Iraq ignored
this. They ignored the UN resolution to leave Kuwait and allow searches for
weapons. They have continually ignored that resolution. We warned them.
Repeatedly.

If the US goes to war with Iraq again, it would be their own fault.

Farrell has no idea what the hell he's talking about.

Peaceful action? We gave them every chance to do the right thing, which is a
lot more than the terrorists gave on 9/11.

Signing that petition is a joke.

It was not a "slip up," I spoke the words exactly as written in the
script. If anybody made a mistake, it was a writer.

This newsgroup is not the correct forum for my views on international
politics. Regardless of whether I would've signed one, I will say that
no petition ever came to my house.

If I seem "touchy" about that petition, it's because I still see the children
who lost their parents, my friends. When one of these kids, who's 6 years old,
asks me why his daddy was killed in between the tears, I never know what to
say. Do you know how that feels?
Maybe if you experienced this, you would see it differently. The image of the
2nd plane crashing into the Tower will forever remain crisp in my mind, since I
saw it happen. When I see my 46 yeard old accountant, he looks like he's 80.
His wife was lost. My wife's friend's baby was also lost that day, as were
three firemen I was friends with.
I will never change my opinion.

Do *you* know how it feels to be blamed for something that horrible
when you had nothing to do with it? At the possible penalty of *your*
life?

No?

That's what a whole lot of Middle Easterners are feeling right now.

And how many of the pilots of those planes were from Iraq???

Nobody disagrees that those who took part in the attacks of Sept. 11th should
be punished. And nobody disagrees that Hussein is a nut. But---let's not use
that as a platform to carry out personal vendettas.

And there is nothing wrong with seeking peace first!!!!

There's a madman named Bin Laden out there who should be dealt with first. The
politics of distraction are a disgrace, and Mr. Bush shames all of us with his
smoke and mirrors.

Thanks! Hope you didn't take offense to that. Some of the expressions
you had on the show are priceless. Just thought that might have been
something that had slipped through the cracks. I think my favorite
expression of yours is when Frank tells you to just paint the tops of

There's a moment in a "Brady Bunch" episode (haven't watched it since I
was young, but I remember this) when Greg addresses Jan as "Eve"

And in "Star Wars" (Episode 4) when Luke arrives back at base after
destroying the Death Star he shoults "Carrie!" at Princess Leia. (Mark
Hamill later denied that this is what he said, but there it is in the
movie!)

"Marion Ross" (the actresses' name) rather than Marion Cunningham.

So nob...@junk.min.net says to me, he says:

> >"You called me all the way here for Vaant?"

It certainly would not be "vonce," as the captioning has it. Yiddish
is a Germanic language -- based on the way they pronounce it in the
episode, I've always thought it would need to be "vantz" or maybe
"vaunz" to keep it 5 letters. "Vontz" would be pronounced with a long
"o." "Vonce," just doesn't look very German/Yiddish to me, and would
be pronouced "voan-kay" or "voan-say" or something like that.

Just my 2 chocolate cents.

Okay then,
Chadd
