The writers have made that very clear. That said, who wants to bet that
when this show ends its run that at least some of Rachel/Ross,
Chandler/Monica and/or Joey/Phoebe get together?

I think I've heard that the writers are heading towards a role-reversal
here next season: this time Rachel will be the one pining away for Ross,
while Ross is totally oblivious.

Me either, as long as they move B5 here in LA...

Um... me? <done in Chandler's voice> :)

Was that all you could... THINK of? (another Chandler)

Last night's ep contained my all time favorite scene. When Chandler
drops the "when Ross was in love with" line and Rachel catches it.
For the first time (ever?), Chandler couldn't think of anything to say.
I had to watch that scene again while he hemmed and hawed,
realizing what he had done and finally coming up with
"Crystal Duck." "Yeah. Keeping rubbing your temples. That's
sure to make time run backwards." - Joey.

Me! Me! :)

Course, I'd do a scene with Lisa Kudrow too.... :)

That's just a little too sick. Would their parents be happy that
at last Monica has a respectable boyfriend? Would dating your
brother be respectable?

Besides, the "drink everything in sight, then go to the store and
buy more" rule would kick in, and that would just be an ugly sight.

That would require Chandler keeping his mouth shut for a whole season. He
managed for, how long, two-thirds of the season? (The Ross-Rachel thing
didn't go on from episode 1, did it?) Is that possible?

Move it to, say, New York City? :-)

I perform the balcony scene with Rachel everynight. In my dreams.

Ian, Prime Time American TV is not ready for incest.

(I don't think I am either, for that matter.)

AS I was watxhing the season finale- I was suddenly remembering a season
finale of the show- A Different World when Dwayne WAyne went to Japanm and
as Whitley was going to confess her love- he came home with a Japanes e
girlfriend. Not that I am comparing the writing of the two shows- Friends
is increible and ADW- wasn't - but does that seem funny? alos the east
Asian theme- hmmmmm...

P.S.= the writes of Friends are alum. of my school!!!

I think Ross' new Chinese girlfriend will be sticking around for a
while next year... driving Rachel totally crazy with jealousy. Ross
of course won't notice a thing.

Just my 0.02$

BTW, speaking of jealousy, were we the only ones at our home to
detect jealousy in Chandler? He sounded like he was half-joking, half-
serious when he threw "Rachel, I love you" before she left for the
airport. But not only this scene, the first one in the cafe, he also
made some nasty comment when Ross tried to give Rachel a lead in a
way very specific to him (unlike Joey, we don't always know what
he means, you know what I mean?

Take care and enjoy the reruns!

I agree with you: Chandler was bluffing when he said "I love you" to
Rachel in the season finale.

As for Chandler & Monica, I think they will get together, but only at the
end of the show. And yes, it *would* ruin the show if Chandler and Monica
got together too soon (i.e. now or next season).

I had the same feeling. I just hope that Friends doesn't end up in the toilet
like a Different World. It's hard to say if the show will take the same turn
if Ross and Rachel get together, because each member of the cast is equally
important to one another (in ADW, they were kind of segregated in their
friendships). If Ross did meet someone (and it wasn't just a Ross-fantasy),
I'm glad. He deserves to have a life too. We all know Rachel has.
