XPilot 1.0.0
////////////

NOTE: The game is also available on anonymous ftp from ftp.cs.uit.no as
/pub/games/xpilot10.tar.Z, this archive also includes binaries for
HP9000/7xx.

XPilot is a multiplayer game which has some common features with games like
Thrust and Gravity Force, i.e. you have control over a 'fighter' (a triangle
formed ship) which you maneuver through cave-like (customizable) worlds.
These worlds have gravity (downwards) and scattered gravitational sources
(miscellaneous types). Also, players may form teams or just have a good
old dogfight.

Imagine this scenario (not uncommon here), 8-10 players simultaneously logged
on the game (with players entering and leaving when it suits them), some
speeding through the world looking for fuel and/or extra equipment, others
mining some poor guy's home base while still someone is preparing an ambush
while he/she has a cloaking device.

Other features include:
- fuel/energy stations (refueling)
- home bases (and the ability to change home base)
- special items (cloaking devices, proximity mines, missiles among others)
- every object is affected by gravity and explosions/exhaust thrust, meaning
that you may 'thrust' another player into the wall... :)
- awsome playability (if you have the right equipment, HP9000/7xx work just
fine).
- number of players is only limited to the number of start positions in a
world.
- several modes, race, combat, limited combat...
- rating system

The only 'drawback' with this game is it's requirements:

- A UNIX machine (Tested on HP9000 300 and 700 series and on SUN's)
- An ANSI compiler (GCC with no options should work just fine)
- X11 (Only R4 tested)
- A color display (Might work on monochrome displays but not tested)

If you have played games like Thrust and Gravity Force you'll love XPilot - if
you haven't, you might just like it anyway (most people do :).
