Astrology is indeed an interesting subject -- so much so that people
are so captivated by its power and influence in one's life.
Astrologers are equally interesting personalities. Today we focus the
spotlight on a star astrologer who is very much in demand among
celebrities and prominent personalities in the country.
Manjula Peiris' competence, skill and popularity in the game is no
secret. His appointment diary for 2010 was full by mid last year, and
anyone seeking an appointment for next year will have to wait till
May this year. This would probably suffice to underline the extent of
the demand for Manjula Peiris in the country.
Why is Manjula so special? After all there are thousands of
astrologers in the country...
Manjula Peiris says he spends a lot of time to go deep into the
horoscopes of people, thus extracting special features that could be
forecast. His predictions have always been on the dot and that has
made him the star astrologer who could not be reached easily. He had
forecast the day that popular actor Ranjan Ramanyake's mother would
pass away and so did he about the death of the late Panibharatha. In
2004, he predicted that Panibharatha would breathe his last on
September 22, 2005 -- and he passed away on September 21.At a time
when Ranjan had no plans of entering politics, it was Manjula who
predicted that Ranjan would excel in the political scenario. Manjula
told the present Police Chief Mahinda Balasuriya's wife two years ago
that her husband would become the IGP.
He also predicted the box office fate of several Sinhala films like
Nilambare, One Shot One, Ammawarune, Sonduru Wasanthe and others.
"I was so passionate about this subject from my childhood and I
really started learning through books and research more than 21 years
ago. I studied horoscopes and cross-checked details with the
individuals about things that had happened in the past. My
predictions also were accurate largely because my calculations were
precise. This is all about proper mathematical calculations,
commitment and dedication. I used to make predictions about my future
too. My horoscope had similarities to that of the late politician
Lalith Athulathmudali. Before the reputed politician was gunned down,
I told my wife that there was some threat to my life too. In fact I
told her not to have big hopes about my survival. Mr. Athulathmudali
was gunned down and during the same period I met with a serious
accident in Moratuwa. I still believe I survived because of the
merits I had amassed. I am so grateful to my wife Shanthi Peiris who
has been my biggest strength. It was she who changed my lifestyle and
brought new meaning to my life. Besides all the good qualities she
possesses, she also possesses a powerful sixth sense due to her Badra
Yogaya. In fact she makes predictions about me," says Manjula.
"Astrology is something that affects all human beings irrespective of
their race, nationality or other factors. The history of astrology
dates back to tens of thousands of years. There are seven people who
changed my whole fate to bring me where I am today and I am so
grateful to them. They are Lakshman Abeysekara, Channa Wijewardena,
Ranjan Ramanayake, Kelum Palitha Maheeratne, Donald Jayantha and
Upali Samarasinghe, not forgetting Sarath Kongahage who was behind
getting me media exposure for the first time," said Manjula Peiris --
the unmatchable, uncatchable star astrologer.
Manjula's astrology programme is telecast live on Swarnavahini from 8
am to 9 am every Monday.
