I can't think of too many things that are made public
without being challenged. Yes, it would be simpler if
everyone would just shut up and buy somebody else's
lessons. (Will that be cash or charge?)

But some of us pay attention to the methods used to deliver
marketed versions of the Truth. Asking us to stop is pretty
useless, and even some of the most devout Eckists understand
why some of us do this. I am not your enemy, sir. Why look
upon challenges to your organization's use of your time,
energy and money with fearful anger? Don't you believe it's
exactly these kinds of challenges that bring *any* institution
to honesty? Do you think your belief system will come crashing
down? Why should it? It can be the strength which motivates
you into a proactive investment in Eckankar, rather than a
weakening drain on your reactive defenses.

It's about time, Vatti, that you stop leaning on your shovel. Watching others
do the work and at the same time criticizing their every act will get you no
where.

:-) Personally a shovel is a wonderful thing to see in the hands of a
detractor. Ranks right up there with a broom, a bucket of hot water and
a good brush! It'll take at least those tools to clean up what they
spread in a day on this group. <wink>

You would think it would at least be good for growing some roses... But all
we get are weeds!

They are a sad and uninspiring batch of detractors at the moment ... The
thing is, I don't think they realise how lacking in zest and energy they
have become.

You heard of the Bad Old Days of a.r.e.?? These are the Sad Old Days <G>

What a sad, sad bunch. I repost a message that is full of ideas and
insights from both sides of the fence and all we get is a tired old
litany of Cher's, Joey's, and Michael's inane and off topic responses.
Note that three of them cannot make one intelligent, on-topic comment
amongst them. If I was a conspiracy theorist I would think they've
been sent to a.r.e. to bore it to death. Doug, you have my sympathizes

Joey was pretty much spot on IMO.

Write something original Lala. Reposting old messages out of context
simply for the slant they hold isn't hardly worth paying them much attention.

I didn't see any insight or inspiration in that little excerpt you shared. But
maybe that's my own shortcoming, eh? Why don't you tell us what you
found so interesting in it, in your own words?

In his own words? But Michael... I thought he had shared his own
words.... just years old dug out of the archives! ;->

Is this self-flagalating or what???

Vatti, your "full of ideas and insights" would be more accurately described as
full of "my opinions".

Your concept of "both sides of the fence" breaks with reality by any stretch of
the imagination. You don't even acknowlede that the other side of the fence
has a legitimate right to exist.

So Vatti, your "opinion" of yourself is at least one brick shy of a load.

I think the whole jist of the thread was one side says, in marketing,
"the ends (new members) justifies the means (plethora of hype)" and
the other side says, "we're tired of all the hype, ESPECIALLY when it
comes to other-worldy matters"

Does 21st century marketing have a place in spiritual matters? Is
Spirit a program of attraction or promotion?

vatti! How could you control ideas and insights? Nope.... there is
nothing remotely resembling these anywhere near what you post.
Someone... please explain to this "being" the difference between
rhetoric and insight! But only volunteer if you have months with nothing
else to do! I fear this guy is a lost cause when it comes to learning
new things! <grin>

Who's the one saying this Lala, you? It sure isn't me and I didn't see
that perspective expressed in Joey's, Cher's or Michael's words. It
seems to me that you are just promoting your own viewpoint and
attempting to overlay it on the words of others.

No one has said much of anything at all in this thread to date <g>.

Hey, I'm tired of hype too. Prove it, I say. Until claims are proven, I don't
take them as true.

I'd bet that you are starting out with the assumption that "marketing" and
"promotion" are just other words for lying.

If you are using the ancient Chinese name for the Supreme Being:
SUGMAD, then I would wager three days pay that any One of us would
gladly want a shovel as well. I would assume that Carrying a shovel
and cleaning the stalls of Heaven would be a joyful chore indeed!
Remember Ron Chrislock's song "Ode to a Warrior"? If you recall the
song goes something like...Nine Hundred and Seventy Warriors of the
Light welcomed him home. In one part of the song Ron wrote something
like just to be Rebezar's or Paul's stable boy would be a blessed job
for him. I can not listen to the song so I am unable to do it any real
justice. I have the old album, but no player. He also wrote "Ginseng
and Goldenseal Blues".
I would think that cleaning one of SUGMAD's stalls would be a dream
come true for some.

Just in case you are wondering, many people see this, so you are not alone. The Eck Loonies in A.R.E. are the
worst advertising Eckankar has ever had.
