Eckankar is very much Scientology in Drag

Not the same thing obviously, and of course Eckankar has integrated many
other ideas, concepts, philosophies, psychology and myths over and above,
and often diametrically opposed to the Scientology aspects Twitchell
"lifted" from Hubbard.

It doesn't matter how much or how little specific "plagiarisms" have been
discovered - for the WELL Twitchell drew from and used is far greater than
anyone will ever find by searching for verbatim coping from known texts.

If a transcript arrives I will copy/paste many of the keywords and concepts
this chap uses in explaining what Scientology is and what he believes.

The similarities to Eckankar teachings and beliefs will blow many away
who have the courage to look into such matters. And then realise a little
more truth about Twitchell and what ECKANKAR really is - vs the PR.

led to the purchase of the "Shalishan property" at GLEN EDEN BEACH Oregon.

This is where Eckankar built from scratch at it's cost a new home office for
Darwin Gross, Staff, and Eckankar Board meetings as well as for Glen Eden
Press (fully owned by ECKANKAR Corp. then but now defunct) to operate out
of legally.

After the kerfuffle over Darwin Gross and him getting the royal boot in Aug
1983, that Glen Eden property, house and buildings were subsequently sold
again for a tidy profit.

There were many others and these multi-million valued donations are still
pouring into the Eckankar coffers as we speak. Especially now as the older
ECKists from the 1970s and 1980s continue to pass away in greater numbers.

"Helen Frye joined Eckankar in 1969, was an EK 8th Initiate, became
'involved' with Darwin Gross and in 1979 had a riff with him after she
discovered Twitchell's Plagiarisms!" (by Eliazabeth PTHA is not sure)

It appears that Helen befriended many within Eckankar along with the then
leader Darwin Gross and was on good terms with him initially. Eckankar was
'gifted' 330 acres, about half, of Helen's Sedona property circa 1976.

Eckankar controlled and staffed the ranch running it alongside with Helen
from about 1972 to 1981.

A well known ex-ECKist Charly Wallace was Helen's bestie and was living on
her property with her when she died. He was also a witness in the court case
over her Deceased Estate, and with David Parker visited Paul's home town of
Paducah and spoke with his ex-wife Camille and many others.

Another 'infamous' ECKist, Douglas Marman also lived on the Eckankar portion
of that property in the 1970s - a dutiful 'volunteer' along with many more.

I think the biggest difference between Scientology and Eckankar today is that
Scientology has an extra one or two ZEROES at the end of it's TOTAL NET ASSETS
figure in it's annual IRS Income/Assets Report to the US Government.

That and the fact that 100% of all Assets and IP of the ECKANKAR "religious"
Corporation/s are wholly and solely legally owned and controlled by Harold

When People like Helen found out about plagiarisms and had a change of attitude do you think they went to Gail asking questions?

Gail was still living at the time, but her and Darwin got divorced in latter 1970s and Darwin soon after looked to put responsibility of LEM onto another; while still remaining part of the organization and drawing a check.

Connect the dots. Gail was selling things and securing a lot of money. Darwin was trying to run things one step removed from LEM. Iow both Darwin and Gail were reaping the benefits of their status and relationship with Eckankar, but from a position LESS LIABLE FOR PLAGIARISMS!

People could argue that it's just coincidence things happened at the times they did, but it is also possible many things were connected.

Did Helen, after learning of plagiarisms, change her attitude?

Did Charly and David turn to asking questions of Gail, Brad Steiger and Paul's relatives, etc.? Iow, were people affected by coming to learn fact from fiction?

Is fact and fiction what comes to divide people one against the other and create schisms within religion; and the forming of new sects? Is it fiction against fiction that causes this?

In the extreme case it could seem that "freedom of religion" amounts to a people believing they were told by God to conquer their neighbors and take their property. IMO that would be the extreme case.

Another case could be a person taking from library books and claiming that some ancient master told him to make out of them a new book; then adding the idea that the new teaching is central and all other religions are spokes coming off of it.
