After over 20 years of deep study and sadhana in India, Bhaktisiddhartha
returned to the West to write and compose masterpieces of spiritual music
and literature. Bhaktisiddhartha's thesis for his Bhakti-vaibhava degree
(similar to a Doctorate of Divinity) dealt with the mathematical parallels
among Sacred Geometry, the Vedic musical system and modern theories of
Quantum Mechanics. His music is as intense, sophisticated and
hyperdimensional as John Coltrane's.
Bhaktisiddhartha's first books 'Sri Visnusahasranama' and 'Sri
Nrsimhasahasranama' are outstanding English editions of Vedic classics. His
more recent work 'Here Be Wisdom' is a very original exploration of Western
religious attitudes from the point of view of a self-realized Eastern
mystic, using aphorisms similar to Zen koans.
Bhaktisiddhartha's new work, the two-volume 'Book of Gethsemane' is his most
original and ambitious undertaking yet. He incorporates material from the
long-secret texts of the Nag Hammadi (Dead Sea) scrolls and the ancient
tradition of the Esoteric Teaching to fill an outstanding gap in the
Biblical account of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane on the night of the
Last Supper.
Bhaktisiddhartha's account of the dialog between Jesus and his divine Father
is cogent without being condescending, reverential without being preachy; he
's intelligent, tasty and engaging. He teases out the subtle meanings hidden
in the spare wording of Biblical texts as if he was there. For the first
time, we can see inside the hearts of the characters-and what wonderful
beings Jesus and the Supreme Lord are in Bhaktisiddhartha's excellent
account!
While parts of the text are very technical, the detail is really necessary
to explicate and support the profound depth of the material he is
presenting-much of it never before published in the West. There are also
many well-designed illustrations and charts that lend clarity to the complex
subject matter. Oh yes, and the cover design is extremely cool.
Bhaktisiddhartha Dasanudas is a real find, just ripe for discovery by a
major spiritual publisher.
