Paula J. Kelly Massage Therapist
Paula J. Kelly, 50, a self-employed massage therapist in Northern Virginia,
died March 7 [2010] of cancer at her home in Falls Church.
Before graduating from Herndon's AKS Massage School in 2001, she had worked
for several years as an administrative assistant at the National Contract
Management Association. She had previously been a bank teller and a
receptionist at area law firms and dental offices.
Paula Jeanne Kelly was born in Needham, Mass., and moved to the Washington
area as a child. She graduated in 1977 from Springbrook High School in
Silver Spring.
She volunteered with and became part of the Wellness Community, a nonprofit
organization that provides support for cancer patients. She enjoyed singing
and writing poetry.
In 2003, she separated from her husband, Carleton Vickers of Vienna. He
survives, along with her mother, Caroline K. Figenshu of Ardmore, Pa.; two
sisters; two stepsisters; and three stepbrothers.
