So what if Godsmack is winning? I mean, I love Slipknot, but I think Godsmack
is the better band.

For the same reason you feel the need to flood the ng with Slipknot posts I
assume. This is how it is: Slipknot had Ross Robinson, possibly one of the
best producers out there for this genre of music, to produce their album with
RoadRunner backing them. Godsmack, however, only had themselves. The album
is their damn demo. Just imagine how it would sound if Robinson had produced,
or anybody that had a budget behind them? I've never heard Slipknot's debut
EP, so I can't judge them on how they sound without Ross. Get my point?

I dunno,I just couldn't get into Godsmack,I saw em in a small(real
small) club in Philly and then like 5 months later BAM that "catchy"
song that i don't remember the name off is all over radio and
MTV...............Slipknot on the other hand,i never heard of them until
Ozzfest, and when i saw the 18 legged hate machine from Iowa i was blown
the fuck away........but fuck voting it doesn't make a goddamned
difference who wins.........and who reads Rolling Stone anymore.Kerrang!
is the real deal

Godsmack, HA HA HA.
Good band, not great band.
Now bow down godsmack and eat slipknots' shit.
PS. Fear Factory R cool.
Better than any of these bands.
NO,to 'really' sell-out would be to wear those things, get paid for it
AND in your heart, feel thats NOT what YOU truly wanted to do.
To go AGAINST ONES OWN heart/beliefs is the true meaning of a SELL_OUT.
For Slipknot to go on Conan, for Korn to wear whatever,is NOT selling
out.UNLESS they're feeling like they shouldn't appear(or wear
whatever),but do so ANYWAY,then they'd be selling themselves out.
::'beating my head against a fucking brick wall::
<and to have to just totally fuck the music up to make more money.>
This is true.If one plays/puts out music that they dont even like just
for the sake of a buck, then that is selling out.
< So their gonna be on tv for 2 minutes and 10 seconds, and play a 2
minute song..........thats not alot of airtime. Like Corn gets.>
I dont give a fuck if Korn were on tv 24/7,that still would NOT make
them a 'sell-out'

That's your opinion.I personally think Godsmack rock!
What about one of the other Godsmack songs they play on the
'radio'?... how 'bout Voodoo...do you like that one?
Tell me that song is 'cheesy' and I'l tell you, you're full of shit.
<The singer sounds like the guy from STP.>
What?...no he doesn't.Although there is absolutely nothing wrong with
the way 'the guy from STP" sounds.
< Slipknot fucking rules!>
yes they do
>Rollingstone Magazine is doing a poll on

Um, why? They are TWO totally different styles of metal...
Besides, polls are gay, cause, quanity doesn't mean quality.

Actually, they have three out. But, read above. Quanity doesn't =
quality.

Why? They were a local band that hit it big and apparently have a good
following.
See ya!
Mike
I loved Godsmack's album. Like others have said, it's hard to compare them to
Slipknot when the music isn't exactly the same. I also don't understand all
this "Slipknot are gods" talk going on. I love Slipknot and their music, but
they are not the greatest thing out there, and they are not all that original.
Not a lot of the bands in this genre are. Korn were the trendsetters, but even
they played off of classic hardcore bands like Biohazard and Suicidal
Tendencies.

I agree
>That one song I heard from Godsmack on the radio was enough to disuade me
>from listening to them any further. One song is all it takes for
>me...sorry.
that's kind of stupid. there's very few cds where every song is good, i'm
talking *really good*. imo, that is you being close-minded by dismissing a
band after hearing only one song.

again, opinion. back it up by fact (although you do not have any). i
personally think it is stupid to compare the two. i like both bands, i
listen to slipknot *way* more, but i wouldn't go as far as to vote for
either band
~Karissa
That you judge a group by one song.
< If that song wasn't one of Godsmack's better
songs, why would it be on the radio? >
hahaha...its been my experience that many, many of 'the better'
songs,NEVER get played on the 'radio'.
Good example,most of Korns songs.
<Also, I just don't like
the>....etc
thats cool
that you are being close-minded. i already explained that. oh, and it would
be a lot better if you quoted
>If that song wasn't one of Godsmack's better songs, why would it be on the
radio?<
like karen said, far too often bands don't get their *better* songs played
>Also, I just don't like their sound.<
fair enough, but that is still judging on one song. not to say if you would
listen to them that you *would* like them, but that is still you not giving
their music a chance.
>The singer lacks the aggressiveness I prefer in most heavy metal bands.<
for one, they aren't a 'heavy metal band' (i'm so sick of those damn labels
anyway). secondly, again, you are judging *solely* on the one song you've
heard. i'm sure it didn't help any that more than likely the one song you
did hear was probably over-played (radio stations tend to do that)
