Howls, all, and welcome to my first attempt (in a long time) to post
relevant material. Hopefully, I'll be able to keep this going.

This Friday will mark the next Full Moon on the calendar, known variously as
the Full Worm Moon, Full Crow Moon, Full Sap Moon, and Full Crust Moon
(northern tribes only, due to snow thawing in daylight and refreezing at
night into a crust). Of course, the settlers called it the Lenten Moon, for
reasons that should be obvious to any good Catholic (and more than a few
lapsed ones, come to that). We're closing in on springtime, folks! Those
of us not fond of the cold months just have to hang on a little longer...

Well, Wes Craven's "Cursed" has finally hit theaters, to much analysis and
little acclaim... and without its title-credited director. Seems Craven cut
the film to an "R" rating, and the production company insisted on a "PG-13".
"Cursed: Director's Cut", anywere? Sirius-ly, IMDB.com gives it 5 out of
10, and says the final version is more a thriller than a werewolf picture...
with great chunks torn not from the characters, but from the plot and
exposition. Bloody-disgusting.com says, at its kindest, that it's "a good
popcorn movie". Anywere want to comment? (Judging from the responses so
far, we could've made a better movie for half the budget.)

For a truly laughable werewolf movie, of course, there's the
prosaically-titled "Werewolf", available on DVD as a two-pack with the
like-named "Voodoo". To judge by the number of factual and continuity
errors people have found, this movie's a good reason to bring back MST3K.
Pity the only "name" is in "Voodoo"... and worse pity that it's Corey
Feldman.

In other news, Ysengrin Blackpaw now runs his own costume and prop shop out
California way. Since the passing of Lance Pope (manager of Wolf Studios
here in Texas), Ysengrin, with partner DarkFang, has founded (I didn't know
it was losted) Running Wolf Productions, where the well-financed werewolf
can still get the Verdun style of costuming and equipage. See their catalog
at http://www.runningwolfpack.com/catalog.html . Their snail-mail addy is
there, too, if you want to drop him a letter. Any Cali-weres going to say
hello to him?

In the meantime, your not-so-humble reporter (that's me, folks) has become a
school crossing guard. I know, you'd expect a guard *dog*, but a guard
*wolf* works just as well. I've had to quit wearing the cap, though... it
just refuses to fit right over my ears. Yes, the "phantom" ears, and no, I
don't understand how it works, either. I don't even know why it's the
"phantom" ears that get cold. <shrug> Go figure. Anyhowl, if anywere
anywhere in Texas knows a good job opening, let me know, will you? This
job's part-time at best, and stops altogether in summer. (Unless I'm lucky
enough to guard for the summer school... and they don't make that list until
next month.)

Well, take care, all, and try not to let the trolls get you down, huh?
Remember, we're all unique together around here.

Yours wolfishly,

The well-meaning,

Wanderer

Good to hear from you, Amethyst.:) In a late update, btw, the Southeast
Howl is next week. I'm not free to go, of course; off this Friday and next
Monday as the school district uses up its "sick days" (inclement weather
days), but not quite free to travel there. Still, if anywere wants more
info, e-mail me and I'll refer you to somewere who can help. Otherwise,
just sit back and wait for my announcement of the Howl pics when they're
online.

Yours with a happy smile,

The friend-welcoming,
