Media Pushes Skewed DACA Polls, Hides Public's Priorities

Media outlets are touting polls which supposedly show public support for the
DACA amnesty - but careful polls show the public overwhelmingly prefers
immigration policies which help their fellow Americans find good jobs.
The pro-DACA polls ask Americans "'Do you want to be nice to people?' and
most Americans do want to be nice to people," said Roy Beck, founder of
NumbersUSA, an immigration reform group, whose polls ask Americans to rank
their often-contradictory views. He said:

We basically ask people to establish priorities. All public policy is
about priorities. You can give people a list of 100 good things to do but
you've got to have a priority. Our polls ask 'Which is more important: Make
sure that jobless Americans get the next jobs or continue to bring in high
level of immigrants?

These priority polls show roughly seven-to-one public support for Donald
Trump's argument that immigration reforms should aid American employees
first, before aiding companies or foreign migrants.

I saw a daca protest on tv last night with a lot of kids waving signs, "Don't Break up my Family." I have to agree with these kids and we should deport the entire family.

Tell the kids,"OK, you can stay but we'll execute your parents or you can go with them back to Mexico." I'm tired of noncitizens violating our laws then claiming they have the same rights as "citizens". It's time to treat them as what they are,"criminals". They became criminals as soon as they crossed the border illegally. Screw a border wall, I want to see minefields and guard towers with machine guns. We gotta keep those damn Canucks out! ┌( ಠ_ಠ)┘

I see you have a big heart, just like King Trump. This is the new
Amerika, where we punish kids and adults for the crimes that their parents
committed ten or 25 years ago. And what a heinous crime, entering the
USA illegally, why it's practically murder,
right? This is why a lot of what now claims to be the conservative
movement disgusts me. And it's not even smart politically, all the polls
show that Americans do not think the DACA people should be deported,
the attempt to spin that into something else is just lame. These are
people who came here as kids, through absolutely no fault of their
own. A good example is the guy I saw interviewed in TX.
He came here when he was 5, he's now educated here with a job as an
EMS. He's saving people in the Harvey flood. This is the only country
he knows, this is his home.

This is another example of Trump screwing himself with his foolish
promises and lies. He promised to end DACA, deport 11 mil. But
then when asked about it, he said he has a big heart, "we love the
Dreamers", etc. So, he's tried to have it both ways., He's said
these DACA friendly things as recently as a week ago. Now, Trump
is in a box and doesn't know what to do. ACcording to WH sources
he asked his staff for an "out". So, he thinks he's found it, by
having Sessions, who a week ago was scum, make the announcement
while Trump hides in the WH. Sessions will say that DACA is going
to end in 6 months.

What Trump doesn't realize is that he's lit a fuse on even worse
trouble for himself. Congress is overwhelmingly in favor of continuing
DACA or outright amnesty for them, which will be even worse for Trump.
And they certainly have the number of votes to pass it, and very
likely enough to override a Trump veto too. What he's done is set
the model for how to override him, to build a coalition of ALL
Democrats and enough reasonable GOP to cram whatever they want down
his throat. And they will do it not with some tough piece of
legislation, where they could fail, but with an easy one with a
99% probability of passing. Once that milestone is demonstrated,
who knows what's next. Taxes for example? Healthcare?

So, within 6 months, Trump will have a bill on his desk either
extending DACA or outright amnesty. There will no out this time.
The BS is over, he will either have to sign it or veto it. What
will he do? Signing it is what the vast majority of Americans
want, but it will alienate the trumpets like you, which is all
he's got. Vetoing it,
it will show the majority who want DACA to stay that Trump doesn't
have a "heart", doesn't "love DACA", and is a big liar. And if
he vetoes it, it's very likely Congress will override it anyway.
I have a bucket of popcorn and will be watching Trump's latest
fiasco closely.

Do you have anything other than ad hominem attacks? I lay out my positions
on the issues. What are yours? Trump just hid in the WH, sent Sessions out
to do his dirty work. What is totally missing is TRUMP'S POSITION. What should be done about the Dreamers, that Trump has told us he has a big heart for
and "loves"? What does he want Congress to do about it? What does he want
Congress to do about all the illeglas here period? That is what leaders do,
that is what real presidents do, they LEAD. They state what they want
done, they outline a solution, they sell it to the American people and
Congress. For all his big mouth and
tough talk, Trump just demonstrated that he's not willing to be a leader.
And he only bought himself a few months, because Congress will act. And
in the process he just demonstrated that again, he's a big liar, who made
false promises to America and the Dreamers. To be fair, he also said he
was going to deport all 11 mil illegals. I saw it as evidence of him being
one of the worst examples of a lying politician, willing to say anything
to any group, to get their vote. Another example of why I didn't vote
for him.

That's how I see it, where am I wrong?

knowledge of the actual facts, incapable of any rational discussion of

IMHO, it is inappropriate to attack poor, unfortunate cripples such as
monster. Living on the public dole in a state psychiatric center is
dehumanizing enough for him.

Adding insult to injury by humiliating him on Usenet and robbing him

And here's Trump's tweet from a few hours ago:

"Congress now has 6 months to legalize DACA (something the Obama Administration was unable to do). If they can't, I will revisit this issue!"

Happy now trumpets? Is this not the ultimate betrayal? He's calling on
Congress to legalize DACA! Or at least implying they should, he's still
not willing to man up and say clearly exactly what his position is.
And then to add to the stupidity,
he ends it with "I will revisit this issue". What issue? He had Sessions
lay out the clear case that DACA was unconstitutional, an abuse of executive
power. But now he chimes in with that he will revisit the issue if Congress
doesn't act? After he gave Congress a deadline, an ultimatum? What
exactly is that? I'll tell you what it is. It's Trump again saying anything
and everything, no matter how contradictory, to scam as many people as he can.
And hiding in the WH, like a little wuss, behind his twitter keyboard,
instead of coming out and standing up for whatever it is he believes in.
But that's the problem. The only thing Trump really believes in is Trump.

That could be a factor. But the biggest factor is he's been on both
sides of it, made promises that are 180 degrees opposite each other
and now he's stuck no matter what he really thinks should be done
and as usual, won't fess up and take a real stand.
You'd think with his tweet the trumpets would be outraged, but so far
all I see is they mostly ignore it, just like they do with all his
other betrayals, bad behavior and flips. The part that is dumbest of
all is for Trump to say that if Congress does not act, then he will
revisit the issue in 6 months. After Sessions laid out the strong
case where DACA was unconstitutional and there is nothing legal that
can be done without Congress, that part is just moronic for that reason
and because he just undercut the pressure, the ultimatum he put on
Congress. I think Congress will likely act anyway, but he just gave
them a way not to, if they so choose. It's like his "fire and fury"
promise to NK if they made any more threats, a big nothing burger.
They've gone way beyond just more threats and there has been no fire,
no fury.

As pointed out to you many times, it is the job of the president to LEAD
and put forth his recommendations for what needs to be done, for new laws.
He certainly had a big mouth when he was running on how anything and everything
should be solved. In the case of the 11 mil illegals, it was that they
were all to be deported in just two years with a deportation force. He
ridiculed all the other candidates for positions where they suggested that
anything else should be done. Now Trump has flipped. And despite what
you say, he just called on Congress to LEGALIZE DACA! He also just agreed
with Pelosi and Schumer on raising the debt limit for 3 months, no ifs ands
or buts, He went further, saying he's now open to making future debt limits
automatic, so no further action is required. And while Congress has to pass
laws, apparently you're not aware that the president must also sign them
into law or veto them. So, it's up to a president to tell Congress what
he will or won't sign, unless you want everyone wasting their time because
the president is a coward. Speaking of cowards, that's exactly what blowhard
Trump was with DACA. He sent Sessions out to do his dirty work, while he
hid in the white house. And beyond telling Congress what he will or won't
sign it's a president's job to tell America what he's for, what his policies
are, what he wants done and to push it, champion it. That's what big mouth
ran for, or at least lead people to believe. I guess you're telling us that
you knew he stood for nothing and was only interested in winning to put another
check on his bucket list and to get ratings.

Can failure be defined without filtering it through biases? No.

Trump is leaving it up to Congress to find a legal way to deal with this
issue by doing their jobs and defining laws that he can either sign or
veto. At which point, Congress gets the opportunity to override any veto.

That is how our government on that level is supposed to work. Obama put
something into action that was not legal from the beginning. Trump is
correcting that problem.

No, that's not how it's supposed to work. A president is supposed to LEAD.
Did Reagan just say to Congress, "do something about taxes"? No.
He put forth what he wanted and he stood behind it, he championed it,
sold it to the American people and in the end, he got most of what he
wanted. His economic plan was signed into law by this time in his
presidency. Obama sold healthcare. With Trump, he's hiding like a wuss
in the WH, playing coy little games on DACA. How is Congress supposed to know
what he will sign, if he won't take a stand and tell America what he
believes in? He sure had a big enough mouth during the campaign,
telling America that he would round up all 11 mil illegals and deport
them all in just two years. Those rapists had to go. Now he sells
out you trumpets, and you just stand there, while he spits in your

This is correct and you have provided an good example.

However, throughout history, in other nations, leaders have used
Trump's demagogic approach to leadership. For the most part, those
leaders have ended up being stabbed to death by lawmakers, hanging
from their heels in public squares or committing suicide in
underground bunkers.

Trump is in the position of leader, but he is incapable of actually
leading and unifying a democratic republic, it is simply not within
his capabilities.

Our Constitution specifically states what a president is supposed to do.

Other than those requirements, everything else is pure opinion.

Why do you feel opinions should define what a president is supposed to
do or not do??

It's a fact that all opinions are filtered through bias. Why would you
see that as being absurd?

In comparison to what? Define failure.

It's never that simple. ;-)

Based on Trumps lifelong history, he is already an established leader.

How do you know what his capabilities are?

Obviously by watching his "capabilities" or more appropriately the lack thereof
both as he campaigned and since he took office. I wouldn't necessarily count
taking over an already successful family business, nearly bankrupting it, and
then having it appear successful today as real leadership. And for all we
know, his business could be a house of cards. Everyone thought Bernie Maddoff
was very successful, a "leader" if you will, until he was exposed. The only
measure we have of Trump's true financial state are his own words, he
refuses to release his taxes, maybe that's why? He's lied about so many
things, why not lie about his net worth too?

No it's not. We have hundreds of years of history of how successful
presidents acted, how they put forth what they believed in, how
they championed it and got it passed. The presidency did not just
begin with Trump. And the constitution does not specifically state
what a president is supposed to do, it only lays out some specific
powers. In the area of immigration, did Trump run on "I don't care,
I only enforce whatever Congress chooses"? ROFL

Ahhh yes, when your absurdities fail, begin introducing specious
arguments. I do admire your tenacity, but not your lack of
intellectual integrity.

As always, your lack of familiarity with the English lexicon is not my
problem. I would urge you to familiarize yourself with some of the
on-line dictionary websites......... ;-)

Give her a break. At least she's unfamiliar with the word absurdities.
Bill Clinton had problems with the meaning of "is". Which is an
absurdity. Look it up, Muggles.

When is the last time the world has known peace? You mean you want
peace on your doorstep, over your lifetime? Who, besides you, would say
that is an optimal solution? Please, don't be selfish.

Both absurdity and specious argument are dependent upon individual bias.
Which way does your bias swing?
