Does anyone know when the Starcraft Demo/Beta going to be out? I havn't
checked with the Blizzard Homepage and I e-mailed tehm about it (I think I
pissed them off, too many e-mails to them. They just ignore me now I think).

Tired of waiting for StarCraft's vapour Beta/Demo?

Try either the Dark Reign demo (Space theme designed by Ron Millar, designer
of WarCraft2) or Age Of Empires (Ancient theme designed by Bruce Shelley, of
Microprose fame).

Both games are so far above WC2 that even in beta, AofE caused me to stop
playing WC2. After playing the Dark Reign demo, I fired up WC2 and just
chuckled at the lack of AI. As for multi-player, AofE over the zone with 6
players was amazing (lag, what lag). WC2, well anyone who played it knows
about lag.

Just my $0.02 worth.

I just played AOE for a couple hours and it's pretty fun. But I still
love Warcraft 2. It will always be fun to me. And as far as the War2
AI goes, I don't play against the CPU.

Also, I bought Total Annihilation and don't like it.

Well, it should be obvious that we loved playing War2 while we were
making AoE. War2 is like a song that will always make you remember a
certain year; After a while passes it may seem dated, but it'll be
remebered for the good things it was even after you've moved on.

Good things come to those who wait. ;)

Don't you think that any real time strategy games released almost
two years (WarCraft 2 shipped in 12/95) after WarCraft 2 came on the
scene should be *expected* to be better? They damn well better be. In
the PC gaming market, two years is an eternity. My amazement is not that
the newest crop of real time strategy games are better than WarCraft 2 -
it is that the competition took so long to catch up.

The early bird gets the worm ;)

They gonna make beta testing of Starcraft on Battle.net....
and if you don't enter fast, they gonna make the draw without ya!( or
did they already?)
