Pain in the ass Magician research (Lvl 16)

I have been having a hell of a time trying to the get the 16th level
Magician Air pet... Has anyone gotten this spell lately???

I heard it was for sale in the OOT. After checking a few times, I see where
the other three 16th level pets are for sale, but where air should be, the
new Enchanter Purify Mana is for sale.

No big deal... Other Magicians told me to research it. The component is an
aviak feather... which is only dropped by a named aviak (which even the GMs
call a "flakey" spawn). I spent some time, got the feather, got my research
skill up... put it all together and guess what ...my reasearch is a
success!!! My Magician has successfully researched PURIFY MANA!! What the
hell! I spend days of game time, just to fall victim to another stupid bug.
I've petitioned and reported it...but I'm out with the rest of the
Magicians... skip this spell.

Air is research only. :( From what little I've read about it, our research
ability will suck until level 20 so there's hardly any point in even TRYING
to get Air. I don't know if that's a fact or not. I've yet to run into
anyone who has offered to research it for me.

Since its a lvl 49 spell, can't you sell this and at least make some money?
I know it won't salve your disappointment, but try selling it to a high lvl
enchanter for some pps, at least you wont be out the time and money spent on
the components.

As a Dark Elf magician who is KOS in OOT, I've been researching all of
my pets since lvl 16 and never had a failure. I don't like the air
elementals so have never tried to research one. Sounds like this guy
stumbled upon a bug though. I'd be pissed too.
