Hi,
I am lvl 50 necro on Xegony. Since I think the Summon Corpse spell is a
chance to help other players like resurrect, I was on my way to Paw. I
found a lvl 50 wizard who had the scroll and showed me the spawn. I dont
say where it is, since I dont want to spoil the "fun" here. All I say is
you have to go swimming to find it.
When I arrived with my guildmembers, the room was empty. We asked around
and found out that the last spawn was about 8 hours ago...when the wiz
got the kill. We were waiting for some 4 hours, then we left. I came
back alone later that day and even died on my way there. Nothing for
some 4 more hours. Now I know that the scroll has not spawned since that
omnious kill. I am talking about 34 hours here. I mean what is this? I
found a lever next room, which seems to do nothing to help the spawn.
Why is it so rough to get the spell? It benefits the community. Making
it so hard will end up in necros trading for it and asking money for
summoning. I think thats a step in the wrong direction. I will summon
corpses for free as any cleric should rez for free in my opinion. I just
cannot understand why it is so rough to get such a spell???

I petitioned this because I thought that maybe the spawn was broken. GMs
said they can do nothing but report it themselves......

If there is any information about the spawn, please feel free to answer.

I think this is a triggered spawn. Just like in the old Paw, Drow Nixx
would only spawn when you killed a particular high shaman (which of
course was a rare spawn) So if you just sit and wait for this guy to
spawn you'll be SoL unless someone else kills the trigger.

I could be completely wrong but the fact that it's the same dungeon, I'm
pretty sure it's the same spawn (had to swim to get to Nixx as well and
there's only so much water in Paw,) and you sat and waited for so long
without seeing it tells me I am right.

FYI, I hunted in Paw a *lot* (as in several levels worth killing
everything in there) when I was younger because I loved being the only
person/group in there and not worrying about other people's train, not
to mention I needed those damn heads for my headband quest. I NEVER
once saw Drow Nixx. Only one time did I go there to see corpses
scattered everywhere. The report was that Nixx had spawned and high
level artillery was brought in to take him out.

To get Nix to spawn in old Paw, Kurrpok must be killed. I never figured out
how to get Kurrpok to spawn though. Someone told me you had to pull some
lever(in some 'secret' room on the lower levels near the water), and a
shaman would change into Kurrpok. Dont know if this is true or not, as I
could never find any lever, and nowhere I thought was a 'secret'

My experience in [the old] Paw was quite contrary. Kurpokk would *only*
spawn after someone had thrown the levers where Brother Hayle was, as well
as the other set (I never did figure out which one(s) were critical). Since
people did this often while exploring, wasn't *too* bad.

However, a group of three of us went in, to each get Kirpokk's ruby pendant
(before we knew of the 'trick'). Got to his spawn point, whacked him. We
were the only people in Paw. We then whacked *FOURTEEN* placeholders in a
row, no Kirpokk (the 15th spawn was also the PH).

Then I heard about the 'trick'. I went back and tried it. Got him to spawn
three for three times (by throwing the aforementioned levers).

It's not true. All you had to do for Kurrpok is to slaughter his high
shaman/normal shaman placeholder; he was about a 1 in 2, 15 minute spawn. He
did spawn in the secret area with the underwater tunnel; that map on
EQ'Lizer should show it nicely.

Every time you'd kill K., Nixx would appear. Funny part is he wasn't aggro;
he was a Ring of Scale faction person and wanted the eye on Kurrpok. If you
gave it to him, he'd vanish and leave you some plat and terrible faction
hits, so we simply slaughtered him. We thought this was part of the Gnoll
Slayer quest, but I guess not.

(There IS a lever down there, too, but that just disarms a non-working in
the first place trap.)
