Im interested in getting a Runed Totem Staff and was wondering what Mob has
it as loot and what level you should be to take it on? Also, if I decided to
purchase it, what are they selling for these days?

Any answers would be appreciated.

You'll find them in Paw. I've heard two stories: One is that
Ren Rexx carries it. The other is that High Shamans sometimes drop
them.

I think they come out of Splitpaw and Lake Rathe (and maybe Unrest?).

I bought mine for 15pp. Well worth it. I just looked while playing
over lunch, and now it's marked "pending lore". I can't predict
whether the lore item change will raise or lower prices in the long
run, but I bet in the next week or so, prices will be lowered as
people try to get rid of inventory before it goes poof.

This weekend's bazaar might be sort of interesting, no?

Ren Rex is the only high shaman I've ever seen in Paw.

I've gotten several runed totem staffs from High Shaman in Lake
Rathe's gnoll/undead camp.

If people are smart, they'll buy all they can *now* and put them on
mules.

More money in the game every day, and fewer people selling these
things, are going to make for higher prices.

That's my hunch, anyway.

Tricky to do with only one per mule (of any given item), and a max of
seven mules per server IF you have only one main character.

Yeah, but prices will be likely to vary more geographically than they
do now. Assuming the items are still camped (I believe they will
be...but that's another topic), the camper will probably sell them
more cheaply to someone who comes to THEM to buy things. That saves
them a trip to town to sell stuff. Prices will probably rise though,
and I guess that's a good thing, at least from a realism standpoint.

I'm sure glad I bought my RTS when I did, though ;-)

Not that it matters, one way or the other, but I know there are at least 3
High Shamens in Paw. And Two Necros.

There is a shaman that usually spawns at the back of the first level
(around where all those Splitpaw Shamen are) named High Shamen Lenrel.
There is also another one who sometimes spawns in Lenrel's place and
sometimes spawns in Ren Rex's place, sometimes with Ren Rex.

It gives +5Mana/+5HP, but that's almost meaningless.

What is important is that it's a competent 2H Blunt that
does magical damage (and thus will quickly pay for itself
if you hunt wisps). It's one of the preferred weapons for
mid-level caster types up to the 20-30s or so.

Amazing the misinformation running around. I suppose this isn't odd, since
I hunt regularly in Paw and at the most, in fact, last night, saw 15 people
in the zone.

The two named shamans as well as the two named High Shamans sometimes carry
this staff. Ren'Rex spawns on the lower level in a room at the top of a
staircase - Lenrel spawns in a room off a room behind the four shaman
circle. These are replaced rarely by Grisok and Phido respectively. I'm
not sure what the real difference is between the "shaman" and "high shaman"
other than the fact that the high shamans seem to be several levels higher.
Last night we had the good fortune to kill both high shamans (yellow to me
at 16) and only one carried the staff. Incidentally, you'll know when they
have (or so you think) because they're actually carrying it. Early in my
days, I had the misfortune of killing Ren'Rex, getting excited because it
was my turn to loot and ending up with a worn great staff.

The Lake Rathetear area seems to have a higher spawn rate of Runed Totem
Staves, but is MUCH more crowded - if you come in with a full spawn, expect
to see roughly 10 or 12 linked gnolls in the front of the camp and 3 in the
back down by the water (which you can take out separately). The neat thing
about this area is that these monsters constantly respawn without being
killed. One minute you'll have two gnoll guards and a gnoll shaman down by
the water - literally ten seconds later, they could be replaced with a high
shaman and two regular shamen. The other disadvantage to hunting here is
that there is a different spawnset during the evening - all skeletons, but
sometimes the gnolls will hang out if they haven't been killed and vis a
vis, the skeletons will hang out into the daytime if they're still alive.
It was my experience that this area wasn't terribly crowded and this is
where we ended up getting our staves after all.

Specifically damage 9 delay 37 - which imho is pretty good for a
spellcaster.
