I have tried for days to find some high quality bear pelts, but have
been unsuccessful. I have done multiple auction messages to try to buy
some and have even had multiple friends looking for them also. No one
has even seen one yet.

Where do you find them? Can it be black bears? Young Kodiaks?
Kodiaks? What's the deal? Are they even in the game any more?

They can be find in West Kalana Plain and Qeynos Hill.
Try to kill all kind of bear on sight.
After 300 kills, you may get 1 such skin.

If you are in tunare server, I can sell you 2 skin for 60pp.
It is not expensive, as i have seen only 4 skins in my life in the game. And
i gain no Xp by kill bears any more. It just waste me a lot of time!!!!

Thorau, on Tunare server.

I waste 30 real hours to kill no XP bear, and collect 2 HQ bear skin.
If u can pay me 30pp for 1 skin, come to Qeynos area in Tunare server and
trade. It is not expensive as 1 real hour earn 2pp, and because I have seen
just 4 skins in game game for L12 game time. 3 on my back, and 1 is from my
tailor master in the game. She make it into bear cloak as ringmail standard
with lighter weight.

I must be soft in the head. I usually give 'em away to tailors for 5gp
and a discount on the backpack if successful. But 30p! Wow!!. BTW, I
also play on Tunare near Freeport, so if you want to buy mine, I'll sell
for only 15p.

Call me drunk and slap me silly, but i killed only two black bear today(for
sadistic fun) and i got a hq pelt. You get at least one hq per 10 bear on
nektulos forest's black bear.

I went on a spending spree last night, and filled three backpacks with
quality bear pelts from the merchants in Neriak. Not a lot of master
tailors among the Dark Elves, I suppose. (I'm planning a trip to
Qeynos, eventually, and once the Millers will speak to me, I plan to
make piles and piles of bear hide items. For the faction increase. I
figure about two tons of bear pelts ought to get the Knights of
Thunder off my back, at least. Then I plan to make life hell for
Tovax Vmar, since I, the player, owe him for nuking my Druid three or
four times in one night.) The bears in Nektulos do seem to cough up
quality pelts fairly often. More than a few times, I've been burning
off ruined pelts, only to see "Those items do not combine in those
quantities to produce anything." Rats, wasted another one.

The rule seems to be, the stronger the animal, the worse the loot.
Spiderlings have silk about twenty times as often as Giant Spiders
have *anything.* The main problem with hunting animals in Nektulos,
is that a lot of them seem to have some kind of teleport skill. I'll
get it down to half life, it'll start to run, and suddenly my pet will
return, and my spells can no longer hit it. Then a minute or two
later, my pet will yell "Time to Die!" and go flying off over a hill,
presumably after the wolf that just came back into range.

I'm fairly certain that bug goes like this: Monster turns to run. Run
code, in a few seconds, tells it 'Go to your escape path start point'.
(There is a fixed escape route most monsters in a zone 'want' to take.)

Unfortunately, the code DOESN'T tell it to RUN to that point, it tells it to
GO to that point, and it teleports there. Once it gets above half damage
again, it starts tracking you with that unlosable monster tracking, and runs
back to you from wherever it was.

I'll have to check again, I didn't think there would be bear pelts AND
skins. I wouldn't doubt it though.
