I can't figure out if its only Beast Lord pets that are dumb as bricks or
the others as well. While in Black Burrow I assumed it was the dungeon
pathing. I found its not so. When I was making a return trip from Oasis to
Rivervale, all along the way my pet wandered off ( yes I have a hotkey setup
for follow and guard me). He didn't attack or was attacked by any mobs, just
decided that the hotkey commands didn't apply to himself. Hence , wandered
all over the place until I hit the next zone and zoned with me. Do the other
classes have this problem with independently thinking pets ?

Welcome to the wonderful world of pets. Yes, all other classes with pets
have the same type of problem. Depends on the zone. I don't know about the
BL class, but I am assuming that at sometime you get the "Summon Companion"
spell which can be bought by the Erudite vendor next to Shady. My Mage
keeps this spell loaded when they are in a zone with bad pathing.

Yes. I swear my skelly gets stupider the higher level he gets. I often find
myself running somewhere, turn around and Jobober is nowhere to be seen. Run
back to find him watching snakes slither through the grass.

He likes to play games too ... I'll be running, turn around, he's not there.
Run back a little ways, still not there. Turn around, he's standing right in
front of me, looking at me like "Where you been?"

I was sat in the Overthere near the Warsliks zone and my animation just
walked off. No where to be seen. Then about five minutes later it sidled
back again as if it had come back from a nice stroll.

back when I played my mage the scariest thing was medding (he never made it
past lvl 20) and this was back when u still had ur nose buried in the book,
and seeing on the chat screen taunting attacker master and standing up to
find your pet nowhere near you and realizing at lvl 17 you were in LOIO by
yourself. I cant tell y'all how many times I gated when I saw that

I've seen pets wandering around before. Sometimes I'll shout asking who it
belongs to. Would be nice if /pet who leader worked for people other than
the owner of the pet....

As a level 49 Iksar Beastlord I have now have Invis, which in some
areas I actually find more useful than having my pet by my side (even
though it fizzles 99% of the time, buy a few invis potions for
backup). I spent the 50p and bought Summon Companion by Shady just
recently as I am sometimes soloing in Emerald Jungle, and here are
some observations. While medding do NOT sit as close as possible to
the walls of a zone or wall (this applies double in dungeons if it can
be helped) - Also use Shrink whenever possible in dungeons on pet, as
makes life easier on other party members trying to get by your monster
pet. I usually stand up and see my pet's tail sticking out of the wall
or zone each time this happens, and 90% of the time have to cast
summon companion. I do just like you do every few steps I actually hit
the hot key for /pet follow me and almost 50% of the time the darn
warder is like 100 yards either in front or behind me, and I do SOW
her otherwise she'd be even further off. Probably best not to have SOW
going into Dungeons to make following you easier -- pain in the butt
but you can't cast sow anyway in dungeons.
