I've grouped more with strangers in Mistmoor than any other place yet.
We've kinda gotten to know them, too. Someone will ask if we have a
spot and join with us, then someone leaves or someone else shows up.
Anyway it's been fun meeting new people.
Mostly.
Infernal and Gijint on E'Ci are killstealing jerkwads.
Gijint even went so far as to /tell shay that she sucks, etc. because
she had the nerve to ask him why he was trying to steal all our kills.
We changed tactics (and Shay put him on ignore) so that he couldn't
steal our kills any more (basically we just had one person blast the
mobs with the same spell Gijint was using, every time he cast it,
which wasn't the best utilization of that person's talents, but it put
an end to the killstealing). Little while later someone /shouts "I am
SICK of Gijint stealing my kills!". So I guess he went to bug someone
else.
We *never* saw a glyphed ghoul with the Special Shield we want the
entire weekend. Sucks. Especially since I seem to be stuck in
Mistmoor until we get one of those shields.
One time, where a guard or sentry usually spawns, this demon-looking
imp thing spawned instead. We killed it, but I have cool screenshots
I'll put on my site. Maybe tonight. We also fetched-up some really
wicked nasty looking things from deeper in Mistmoor. 'Cant wait to be
higher level so we can see more of what is down under the graveyard.
I gained two levels and only died once. I fell down a hole and got
charmed. This dark elf's pet would dash my brains out when the charm
wore off, then the DE would charm me again, heal me up, and wait for
the charm to wear off. Took about 30 minutes for me to finally DIE
and get the heck out of there but it seemed more like an hour or two.
And when it got to be REAL busy, invariably some big nasty train would
come out and chase everyone out of the zone, kill several people, and
things would start moving towards being un-busy again.
Once, this nasty charming thing came up and we decided to try and kill
it. Bad thinking, since it turned out that it DID charm (someone had
told us Vampiric Ancille's charm - they don't). Everyone had run for
the zone and was fighting there - when I got charmed and started
attacking the other players.
I got several nice punches on Gijint before the Evil Thing's pet
finished him off. Which really made it all worthwhile... (he was back
and killstealing again 15 minutes later though).
We grouped with people from levels 20 to 29 and we did alright with
pretty much any full group - so long as we didn't get too top-heavy
with soft people. At any point, a high level warrior would have been
a *welcome* addition to the group. We never saw any high level
warriors, though. Not *one*! Manjuk came but he's only 19 - he had
to use a fake-id just to get in to Mistmoor (and he died). It really
is a 21-and-over sort of place.
It sounds like it'd be boring - just park-n-lure and kill dark elves
over and over - and it would have been but for the (thankfully
uncommon) trains from below. Some of which we started. And some
decent loot for a change, from time to time anyway, instead of the
"fantasy adventure garage sale" we've found everywhere else. Fine
steel weapons and the imp thing had something cool (I won't tell ya
what - and anyway there was only one imp ALL weekend).
I got charmed in another one of those trains and started wailing on
people. Hit Feign Death as soon as the charm wore off and waited for
the baddy to go away. Shay /tells me from outside the zone (where 30
people were waiting for the Baddy to go away, "Someone just said '29th
level monk running around smacking people not my idea of fun".
It was pretty fun for ME though. heh.

I am something with Mistmoore I once planned to do with Crushbone -
exploring it with my dark elf enchanter character. Mistmoore is BY FAR
the coolest zone I've seen in this game so far.
I know how to get out of that trap now, and I know where we can start to
pull things that are a couple steps up from the graveyard spawns. We've
also identified, and I've pinpointed, one more "kewl loot" mob in the
place. So, once I tell Krysztofv and Shay about that item, I suspect you
won't be getting out of there until she has one of those too :)).
I asked the ancille cook for a job, and when rebuffed told him his chicken
was burning (actually, my invis icon started to blink and i figured i'd go
out in style). He's level 31 by the way, hits for 64 max.

Yah, me too. Actually I might have made it out the first time if I
hadn't been locked in a closet. We fought a couple of Deathly Heralds
back there. But a Soul Seductress showed up and made us stay back
with the peons and regular gravethings for a while.

Oh greeeeat.
That closet has not one, not two, but three false wall panels. One of them
leads to an easy, semi-non-deadly, way out. And a possible campsite.
Flouting gargoyles, oh my !

Well, it's revenge. You wouldn't let me tell her about the bazaar, so there.

Different closet. Through the secret door behind the tomb there's a
room with a secret passageway down to where you fall behind the
coffin, three closets, and a door that leads to the rest of the castle
(I peeked through there but didn't go up the stairs). Anyway, I'm in
one of those closets I think. I was in there for a good long while
and absolutely tried running through all the walls, since the door
wouldn't open.
'Think I'll run down there and do a /corpse. I had a greater
lightstone on me so my corpse should still be there. Yeesh.
Oh, you're IN one of the closets. That room with the four doors is the one with
the three false walls - one that you come up through if you fell down the trap,
one that you come through if you went in the false wall next to the tomb, and
the third that leads out and up into the castle proper. Three of those doors
are locked from the inside and out, and are controlled ONLY by the fourth door.
NASTY surprise when you do open that fourth door, since all three closets are
full of various mobs.
You can go in invis, pop the fourth door, /corpse your body, wait for the doors
to close again, and then go back out the false walls by the tomb. If you want,
that is :))
I kept seeing a 21st lvl paladin pull in MM, she died twice...after just two
spells hit her.
While the exp is good, i found the death to wealth ratio rather uneven and
left.
It seems quite nasty...time for another journey

We try to whack the casters as fast as possible. Pulling at level 21
is a BAD idea. Hell, we got blown up tonight in two spells at level
27 and three spells at level 29 - by shadowy scriveners. A ghostly
ancille did 900 plus points to a level 33 guy in three spells ... not
a pretty picture.
But it's fun ! Lousy loot, but everyone once and a while a nice
train comes along and your party gets charmed and kills each other or
gets drawn deep into the castle. But its fun !
Well, maybe not so much tonight. But wait till tomorrow !
