Hello there! It's gaping consumer whore, er, Christmas time! The sort of
time that makes me feel glad to be agnostic and poor...

Besides, all my money goes into buying stuff like this:

pg 33
DARK HORSE
Usagi Yojimbo #73 - $2.99 - order #DEC030046
After a victory against the Neko Ninja, Usagi and Jotaro travel to Kitanjoi
Temple, where they plan to part ways. But when the pair encounter an
impoverished samaurai and his son, they find out more about "The Pride of
the Samaurai" than they expected. Will Usagi finally tell Jotaro the
truth?

pg 109
DC COMICS
Looney Tunes #111 - $2.25 - order #DEC030293
Bugs helps Yosemite Sam catch the Loch Ness Monster, while Daffy gets
adopted by apes... who don't want him. Better than the movie.

Scooby-Doo #81 - $2.25 - order #DEC030295
The gang investigates stories of an extinct animal on the loose. Turns out
it's an honest politician. And Shaggy has trouble at the local haunted
accupuncturist. You'd think dealing with Blue Cross would be scary enough.

pg 111
Thundercats: Hammerhand's Revenge #5 - $2.95 - order #DEC030306
The mini-series comes to an end, as the Thundercats and the Griffins attack
Hammerhand's ship. Ships with two different covers to take advantage of the
stupidity and greed of comics speculators.

pg 206
ANTARCTIC PRESS
Gold Digger #50 - $2.99 - order #DEC032120 & 2121
Because of the second series, this is technically the 100th issue of Gold
Digger. Comes with two covers, one by Fred Perry, and one rather boring one
that just has "#50" and "100th Issue" on it. Ask for the Perry cover.

pg 214
ASTONISH COMICS
Herobear and The Kid: Saving Time #1 - $3.50 - order #DEC032182
Tyler and the white wonder return in a new story, as the mysterious Von Klon
goes after the butler, Henry. This will ship with three different covers,
one by Tim Sale, one by Humberto Ramos and one by series creator Mike
Kunkel. I wonder how he movie is going...

pg 218
AVATAR PRESS
Mark Millar's The Unfunnies #3 - $3.50 - order #DEC032195 & 2196
Comes with regular and offensive covers. And no taste.

pg 291
GEMSTONE PUBLISHING
Again, I cannot list everything in these books here, as I'd be typing for a
week. Suffice to say that it's all well worth getting. Quality printing of
quality comics from such luminaries as Carl Barks, Don Rosa, William Van
Horn, and many, many more.

Walt Disney's Comics & Stories #642 - $6.95 - order #DEC032466

Mickey Mouse & Friends #262 - $2.95 - order #DEC032467

Uncle Scrooge #327 - $6.95 - order #DEC032468

Donald Duck & Friends #313 - $2.95 - order #DEC032469

pg 313
MU PRESS
Rhudiprrt Prince of Fur #11 - $2.95 - order #DEC032566
The small fights over, Rhudi must now try to break the siege of his people.
This will put him up against his wiliest foe yet.

Wild #4 - $3.75 - order #DEC032567
ADULTS ONLY - Zephrey Hughes shows how an apprentice mage gets a little
"Dragon's Blood," while Melville & Wood are "Trying to Make A Little Doe."
A corny gag, but what the hell...

NBM PUBLISHING
Boneyard #13 - $2.95 - order #DEC032573
Glump's "Doomsday Frog" is loose, and only he can stop it. Or so Glump
claims...

pg 318
RADIO COMIX
Furrlough #134 - $2.99 - order #DEC032610
Gary Bedell's "Sky Lords," Ursula Hustead's "Space Fixen," and Thor
Thorvaldson's "Tales of Marga." Cover by Diana Harlan-Stein

Furrlough Presents: Sex Kitten #1 - $4.99 - order #DEC032610
This book collects all the G to PG-13 stories of Kurt Wilcken's super kitty,
as well as the story of what happens on the day when she and her boyfriend
Milo finally get married. Not something out of "Bride" magazine...

Genus #64 - $3.50 - order #DEC032611
ADULTS ONLY - With stories by Brian Sutton, D.A.Q., Angelo Brewer, Eddie
Perkins, and Matt David. Cover by Susan Meyer.

pg 320
SHANDA FANTASY ARTS
Katmandu #31 - $4.99 - order #DEC032627
The story of how Liska learned to become a warrior while rescuing her
brother. Art by Sarah Silverman, cover by Shane Fisher, also includes
"Beans and hay" by Ken Asche, and "Fawn" by Steve Addlesee.

Sheba Vol. 3 #4 - $4.99 - order #DEC032628
Sheba returns with an army of decomposed, brainless mummies. Later, the
mummies go on to form the Department of Homeland Security.

Woman in Fur 2004 #1 - $4.99 - order #DEC032629
The annual comic showing off the talents of the many ladies in the fandom.

pg 330
TOKYOPOP
Sgt. Frog Vol. 1 GN - $9.99 - order #DEC032705
An amphibious alien gets stuck on Earth after being assigned there to take
it over. Fortunately, he lands in Japan, not France...

Tokyo Mew Mew Vol. 6 GN - $9.99 - order #DEC032708
Cat girls vs. sea monsters. Film at 11.

That's it for this week. See you in the New Year!

But wait, there's more!

All these are $2.95 24-page black-and-white floppies except as noted.
Most are peripherally furry (funny, feathery, plastronic), but do check
out the first one.

A FINE LINE
DEC032001F NEW SOULS STINZ BOSOM ENEMIES #3 FLIPBOOK TP 192pg,
$19.95
by Donna Barr
'Donna Barr is publishing Stinz/Bosom Enemies as a reversible special. .
. . 103 pages of Stinz. Turn it over for 64 pages of Bosom Enemies. With
two covers, it's 192-some pages of Barr-y goodness!' I don't know where
the other 25 pages come from. Both parts have lots of backstory, but
given their infrequency, I imagine Barr makes the stories comprehensible
for newcomers.
Stinz is mayor of a community of half-horses (*don't* call them
centaurs!) from the Geiselthal in Bavaria. Barr has been doing Stinz
stories for over fifteen years now, first in *Centaurs Gatherum* and
then from Fantagraphics, Brave New Words, MU, and now her own imprint.
It's a rich and often grim world, in which Stinz was drafted for a war
like WWI, the only non-two-legger in his unit, and came home when
everything fell apart. Highly recommended.
‘Bosom Enemies' started as a short piece in Jim Groat's anthology series
*Morphs*, expanded into two 64-page paperbacks from A Fine Line Press in
1999 and 2001. In this fantasy an American and a German soldier find
themselves in an underground world where they have been turned into
‘turbs' (human above the waist, hands useless, two horse legs below),
draft beasts to horse-headed humans. It's a pretty dark story of slavery
and slaughter, worth reading.

DEC032122E LEGENDS FROM DARKWOOD #3 (of 4) 40pg, $3.50
by Christopher Reid & John Kantz
'While Ira investigates the origin of Moore and his fantastic
meat-packing operation, the unicorns plan an attack on their poachers.'
There are reportedly funny animals somewhere in this, so I include it.

PAGE 213
ARCHIE COMIC PUBLICATIONS
DEC032165E SONIC THE HEDGEHOG #133 color, 32pg, $2.19
Two stories: '"Home Part 4: Finale" (by Karl Bollers, Steven Butler, &
Jim Amash): The final chapter of Sonic's eventful homecoming!' And
"Mobius, 25 Years Later" (by Ken Penders with Steven Butler).

PAGE 264
DON'T EAT ANY BUGS PRODUCTIONS http://homepage.mac.com/rayfriesen/RQW/
DEC032362F RQW #3 $2.95
by Ray Friesen
'Picking up on last issue's cliffhanger, the Owls live up to their
threat to feed our gang to some horrible, biting guppies.' Gasp.

PAGE 273
DREAMWAVE
DEC032373E TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES ANIMATED #9 color, 32pg,
$2.95
Written by Peter David; Art by LeSean
'Despite Donatello's electronic damage, T4 escapes, finding refuge with
an uninformed April O'Neil. April's help develops T4's affinity for
humans, inspiring it to stop a nearby robbery.'

PAGE 310
MIRAGE STUDIOS
DEC032549E TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES #14 32 pag, 2.95
by Peter Laird & Jim Lawson
'This issue: April makes a fateful decision; Donatello makes a startling
discovery; Michelangelo starts to enjoy his new job; Raphael wakes up;
and Leonardo learns more about a baffling mystery.'

Gah, I knew I forgot the Turtles, but I should kick myself for missing the
Donna Barr piece. Be sure to crosspost this to Flayrah, will you?
