OK Jim, now look what you inspired.

Oh, I dunno... admittedly it's been a while since I did much MUCK
programming, but how about one slight change...

Kinda like a Medusa device...

rh...@Furry.fan.org (PeterCat) Rhal on FurryMUCK (come cuddle!)
Speaking from several years' experience as a FurryMuck wizard, I can say
that we do have cases of character-hacking (and we've @toaded folks for
it, too) where someone gets into another's character and destroys its
properties and possessions in the sake of revenge. I've seen stuff
destroyed during a lovers' quarrel and for the sake of philosophical
differences.
It could easily be abused... far too easily. We put in the 24 hour
waiting period to circumvent things like this. I generally check with the
player when I get a @toad request, and if the ISP or something else about
the character looks odd, I investigate.
The @suicide option on Muds is fine with me, because you don't really have
things you own on a Mud (you just get zapped in rank and abilities). But
people spend years building things and describing them and in spite of our
warnings to "NEVER GIVE OUT YOUR PASSWORD", some folks give out passwords
anyway or turn themselves into slave objects where the Master can force
things on them... like password changes.
Having an autotoader on FurryMuck would be an additional problem, not an
elegant solution.

O_O Geez on a pogo stick!
Okay, that's it. All of you who THINK you are Evil can just pack it up
and go home now. You have been outdone by a small, cute vulpine.
No, I mean it. It's over. You will have to work a damn long time to come
up with anything nastier, and in the meantime your potential victems will
be weeded out by this thing.
All hail, FoxFaws, Prince of MUCK Darkness!

(Several years on FurryMUCK? I didn't think you were wizard
there for so long yet)

That's also the reason why I would vote against a wizard setting
itself Xforcible for such a machine on SPR....
Also there are players temporarily fed up with things, two days
later things look a lot different, some times....
unci (SPR wizard since the MUCK exists)

It was not there for several days. It was only there for an evening,
and well, maybe the morning after. Trust me, I oughtta know. :P
Never did I realize when I first had the idea that it would go this
far. I guess ideas can be a dangerous thing. :P

Toading is a dangerous, powerful and ego tripping command. I've been
the victim of two mucks doing that to me. I no longer am tempted to
muck because it seems "killing" people has become "fun".
