Oh yeah? I'll throw my twenty sided die at you!
oh nooooooo!!! not *that!! lmao!!!!!
Please, if you want them to stop, make sure you don't encourage more of
them by posting such garbage to other newsgroups. You just sent that
message to 10 (or so) newsgroups other than ours.
That's called a crosspost, and very, very bad thing to do, especially in
the current context.
How to not-crosspost: When somebody crossposts, you will be able to see in
the headers that the message went to not only us but several other (look at
the to: line). When you reply, you need to delete the excess newsgroups
from the to: line in your message, or they will all receive your message.
You just swore at several newsgroups.
That just fuels the fire.
> Sonnarat...
As MasterSkull pointed out, that's not Sonarrat. It's just a troll
posting under his name.

Identity theft - a form of fraud - across state lines. Felony level federal
offense if committed within the US. We now have a legit tool to *truly*
punish the trolls if they continue.

Since they apparently live in the US, yes. But is identity theft a crime
internationally?

Froging a usenet poster is hardly identity theft. Good luck in court.

I don't know. I do know however, that by US federal law to perform any
blatant deceptive practices is a low level felony on the very first count -
or at least it has been since the 80's. My brother's a lawyer; I'll see if
I can verify it with him. The real question though, is whether or not twits
are worth your time and effort. Sometimes the most effective insult is to
leave them to stew in their own dysfunctional juices.
I have no intention of suing anybody but am merely curious about the details of
such a possibility.

Ah. That I must say I do not know. If the peron(s) involved reaches the
point of being destructive or even threatening violence thugh, they'd be
under a very powerful microscope by international anti-terrorism agencies.

It's also very possible that blatant, intentional, public misquotation
(i.e. changing quoted text to something inflammatory, and then
crossposting) is libel.

True. Often they're just not worth the time. (Especially if you've got
decent filters.)

Yup, but libel is typically civil lawsuit territory where deception is a
clear-cut criminal offense.
