In the book "The Assassination Chain", by Sybil Leek and Bert R.
Sugar , on page 57 there is a New York Times newspaper story ( 2 /
25 / 76) in which says that Dr John K. Lattimore, a medical
investigtor was the first outsider permitted to look at the Kennedy
autopsy photographs and X-rays.
The story says that Dr Lattimore is an rxpert on medical ballistics
and President of the American Urology Association and chairman of the
Urology Department at Columbia University School of Medicine in NYC.
"In an interview Mr.Lattimore said last night, ...." If you look at
the evidence, both bullets were recovered and both came out Oswald's
gun to the exclusion of all others"...unquote
Obviously Dr Lattimore is our own Dr Lattimer..... And he was an
"expert who examined the autopst photos ans X-rays and saw that the
evidence showed that ....BOTH BULLETS WERE RECOVERED ....

I'm guessing that the OTHER bullet that Dr. Lattimore was referring to

Only a kook like Walt would start up a stupid thread like this one.
By "both bullets", quite obviously, Dr. Lattimer was referring to
CE399 (from Parkland) and the two large fragments of ONE single bullet
found in the front seat of the limo (CE567 & 569).
Hence, when combined, "both bullets" were, indeed, recovered and both
were fired by Oswald's gun (or at least a large enough majority of the
head-shot bullet to determine that it, like 399, had been fired
through Oswald's C2766 rifle "to the exclusion").
But Lattimer most certainly WASN'T talking about any bullet fragments
handled by O'Neill and Sibert at the autopsy. Only a goof could think
Lattimer was talking about the O'Neill/Sibert "missile".
Vince Bugliosi, when using general terms, has also referred to the
"two bullets" that hit the 2 victims in ways very similar to the
Lattimer example:
"The evidence will show that Oswald's rifle, to the exclusion of
all other weapons, was determined by firearms experts to be the rifle
that fired the two bullets that struck down President Kennedy. ....

Dear LOB.... In a recent post I wrote how easy it would be to create
false bullets, projectiles, missiles, slugs, or anyname commonly used
for a projectile of a cartridge. It's a piece-o-cake to fire a
smaller calber missile, like a 6.5mm (.264") into a barrel of water
and then remove that pristine bullet with the ballistic finger print
of a specific 6.5 rifle. and then place that 6.5mm missile in a teflon
sabot ( sleeve) and set in in a larger ( 30.06. 7.65mm. 8mm) caliber
with a reduced powder charge so the bullet would have great
penetration power. That cartridge could then be used to fire the
missile into a murder victim where it would be found during an
autopsy. The ballistic evidence would indicate that the missile had
been fired from a 6.5mm rifle when in reality it had been fired from a
larger caliber rifle.
