Jackie's pink suit tells us this is the day of the assassination but the
Kennedy are exiting from a building to the awaiting car. In Dallas they
went right from the plane to the limo so this would have to have been in
Ft. Worth. I'm pretty sure they did not use the presidential limo to ride
from the hotel to the airfield where they made the short hop from Ft.
Worth to Dallas. I'm guessing that car is the ordinary white Lincoln they
rode in that morning. Can somebody confirm that?

It's definitely Ft. Worth. And I have a wider view of that photo that
shows it to be a white car.

Not sure. Could be Fort Worth. One clue is the ornate double doors.
Another would be who is wearing or carrying a coat.
Doublecheck the Stoughton photos.

BTW/FYI -- A few years ago, the white '63 Lincoln was sold at auction for

Yes, thanks. I do have one pet peeve though. I wish web sites would keep
rhe original file mames so that we could look it up from the master
list. There were 4 or 5 official WH photographers who took photos.

I've always been fascinated by how much people are willing to pay to own a
piece of history. I used to watch Pawn Stars a lot and the collectible
value of something associated with a celebrity or an historical event is
amazing. Of course the true value of anything is what someone is willing
to pay for it. These items have little intrinsic value but because there
are enough people who want to own them, the value goes way up. I would
guess that a Lincoln from that time frame that had been kept in good
condition would likely be worth about a tenth of that sale price if it
were not associated with the assassination.

It will be interesting to know what the rocking chair sold for. The
article indicates he had 14 such chairs so that would probably drive the

they have been selling that same rocking chair since the 1930s. I own one.
I forget what I paid for it about 20 years ago but it was under $100. I
suspect the one at auction sold for a wee bit more.
