Never heard that before. Who did they name? Blakey and Cornwell believed
the Mob was behind it but I don't remember them officially accusing any
suspects by name.

A witness claimed he was a cellmate with Marcello who confided he ordered
the hit on JFK. Hoffa was a prime suspect too. Are those the two likely
candidates you're referring to?
