Nice!
But the author uses a 2.6.14 kernel, and even though I am able to start it, I cannot start (i.e. reload) the alt-f kernel.
Thus, following the approach of blujay, I have prepared a script to:
  1. compile qemu
  2. prepare the empty hdd and flash images
  3. compile the alt-f kernel using a configuration taken from the one used by bluejay for 2.6.14
  4. create a rootfs image changing the serial device in ttyAMA0 in /etc/inittab
  5. starts alt-f
In this way, alt-f kernel image is starting and it is possible to test changes without flashing or reloading it first, for example on the web interface.

There are anyhow some errors, e.g. it cannot access to mtdblock to save configuration (which possibly can be related to some kernel config missing option), but it starts!

Those scripts are available inside the attached tar.gz archive and as a patch to be applied to the root of the 0.1RC2 source code.

Please let me know if this can this be useful to anyone, and feel free to use and modify it.
