Really? How about a little more time to migrate. Some of us have used AdWhirl for 4 years and have tons of apps to update for this change. When you killed off Google Ads and forced us to use Admob at least you gave us till the end of the year. What about the users that don't upgrade, will you continue serving them ads?

AdWhirl will no longer be available after 30 September. Mediation will stop working for apps using the service. This means we will return a 404 to the SDK and there will be a blank space where the ad used to be. Users will not be able to login to their accounts after that date because we will be retiring www.adwhirl.com too. We recommend that users downloads any reports they want to keep prior to that date.

We will continue to open source AdWhirl and let anyone use the code to run their own AdWhirl-service if they want -- Google won't be involved with hosting or supporting it.

I'm not sure exactly what they mean by "retire" they are using the word "deprecate" also. It must mean no more new account sign ups with AdWhirl. I mean how could they just cut it off with millions of apps in the wild in so many 3rd party app stores that will never be updated they would have to keep it going and the help page seems to contradict it self.

"AdWhirl will be deprecated on September 30, 2013. If you would like to continue using your AdWhirl mediation placements, you must import them to AdMob Mediation before the deprecation date."

What if the networks I need are not yet supported by Admob Mediation?

You can continue using your AdWhirl account for these networks. Note that from now on AdMob only offers support and new features for AdMob Mediation.

We can't really download any reports as reports has not worked for over a year, but that part does not matter. I understand depreciating this, it makes sense to me. What does not make sense is the time. You are giving developers 3 months to upgrade all their apps. Now obviously, thousands of users who don't upgrade the app will no longer see ads, not much we can do about this. I am asking can you extend that timeline to Dec 31, at least we have a shot of getting more users on the new versions. If anything, be fair to the developers with a timeline, 3 months is ridiculous. What is even worse, there was not email sent out to us, I came across this by going to the AdWhirl site which I don't do everyday anyway since reports has not worked as I said for a year.

Developers are the ones making the apps that use Admob for you, give us a bit of a break here on time.

I think this is a very rash decision not only for us but Google will lose much revenue this does not make sense.

What would be better is to keep serving ads to these apps and any new apps will need to use AdMob mediation just keep the requests going and wait to it dwindles away as we upgrade as many apps as possible!

I'd be willing to setup a server to keep it going if anyone is interested?

Even still I'd be happy to maintain the Amazon Instance Google is using and take over the whole setup including the domain if that is an option.

Google should not do this to people we stand to lose allot of money from this. If Google was in the same boat how would they feel totally ridiculous!

On the 30 of September our income is going to be cut to almost nothing we get millions of request from China and we do not even know how as many Chinese upload apps from Google Play to there own 3rd party app store we can only basically updated our apps on Google Play.

Its this example of heartlessness from Google that really gets to me and half the people in the world who are not tech savvy don't even know what Google does.

What happen to "Do no Evil" what a bunch of hypocrites!

Why doesn't Google just stop sign in and sign up and keep current requests running only on the server side only from currently requesting package and close down everything else. This does not make sense at all. Years of work, time and effort down the drain a bit of empathy would go a long way! Does anyone care or is anyone listening?

Usually we charge users to get our app ad free seems google wants to give our apps away free of charge thanks for supporting our business model the way we have supported your Ad Sense business model!!

Same problem here. We are a premium publisher at Admob and our apps have downloaded millions of times.

I also understand that the service might me discontinued in the future, but 3 months is just too fast. We have been using Adwhirl for 3 years. We have a lot of apps downloaded through 3rd party markets and they are still generating a lot of request. Reaching these for an update is not that easy, because most these markets don't have update notifications like Play Store.

For long time developers its not so simple to make a switch.  We need more time, evaluate alternatives, adjust and reach as many of our users as possible. Quitting the service in 3 month will have a big impact on our company revenue.

I'm asking to please reconsider the period, please extend this period for us developers. Maybe only close it for new accounts , but let existing developers still use it to make a normal switch.

We have the same problem with the short time period. It's a big problem (revenue wise) for us to make a switch this fast.  Please consider extending this for existing developers and maybe only close it for new accounts.

Another thing is we received many many emails from app stores and app distributors asking for apks many of our apps have gone viral in Brazil and in South America we don't even know where the apks where uploaded but a great chunk of our revenue comes from these sources. Google have mercy keep the server running in the background for current users!

Hi Eric you guys aren't simply asking us to update an SDK your asking us to rebuild our business in 3 months but it took 3 years to build and it could affect allot of people in our business. Please reconsider keeping requests going especially for the amount of requests we are making and large app developers will crash hard.

Can we get some official response? I think it is quite clear what is going to happen to revenue for many of us. Please reconsider the date, I think all the posters here would be much happier with a Dec 31st deadline. It will give us time to migrate, get more users, and even request adapters from providers that don't have one yet for admob mediation.

I remember when you killed off adsense ads and forced us to use AdMob, you stopped new people from signing up and would not allow existing users to add more apps...but you did continue to serve ads for existing app for 6-7 months. Why can't this be the same?

Yes Google pls give use a reply.  Pls extend till the end of the year or shut down site but at least let requests run through your servers till the end of 2013. Got this our voices on techcrunch a few days ago too http://techcrunch.com/2013/06/13/google-shuts-down-mobile-ad-aggregator-adwhirl-asks-developers-to-use-admob-mediation-instead/
