Ski Trip:: Lake Tahoe (01/19-25/2013)

I found that we had a lot of typos in the Lake Tahoe Ski Trip thread. This one fixes those typos, and this is the final version. We are going to take advantage of the Martin Luther King long weekend for this trip, so you can save one day vacation.

Where - Lake Tahoe (The most beautiful ski destination): Heavenly (1-2 day), Squaw Valley (1 day), Kirkwood (1 day), Northstar (1-2 day).

When - 01/19/2013 ~ 01/25/2013 (5 ski days 01/20-24, you can stay and ski more days if you want).

Lodging - Some of us will stay at Lake Tahoe Vacation Resort, You can book your lodging at the same location, Harrah's Lake Tahoe, Harveys Lake Tahoe, or any hotel in South Lake Tahoe. (They are all served by ski bus.).

How to register - Please reply to let us know that you are joining the trip.

Flights - Most of us booked the following flights for $417: (IAD-RNO round trip) 01/19/2013 - UA333, UA459; 01/25/2013 - UA380, UA1726.

Tentative ski plan:
Sat 1/19 - travel
Sun 1/20 - Heavenly (local)
Mon 1/21 - Kirkwood (ski bus every Mon & Wed)
Tue 1/22 - Northstar (ski bus every Tue & Thur)
Wed 1/23 - Squaw Valley ski bus Fri-Sun)
Thu 1/24 - Heavenly (local)
Fri 1/25 - travel

Sidenote: Lake Tahoe will have a very good season this winter. The lastest snow report (Last Sunday) from our long-time friend Taichi master Mr. Shen from South Lake Tahoe:

"Heavenly has received 24" of snow from past 7 days, so, it is powder skiing all around now, and more to come (another bigger one has forecasted next Tuesday)."

Lake Tahoe has got tons of feet of snow! You got to go this time. Don't worry about how much the airfare is. It's going up and getting more expensive, but you got to book the air right now! Please *see* the latest snow report from our friend Mr. Shen at Heavenly:

(On 12/19/2012) "It was beautiful day, beautiful snow, and beautiful skiing, but all the video clips were ruined by fogging of gopro2, kind of like Norman and beg on this forum, they suck big time. And the weather was called for snow flurries in morning, sunny in the afternoon, and that was wrong too, in fact, just the opposite, by three o'clock in the afternoon, the mountain was totally suck in, cold, windy, and white-out, it sucked like Norman and beg, big time. The good news is that we get to ski the powder again today. The weather forecast is again called for big snow storms with several "feet" of snow on and off from Friday through Sunday. Haha, as previous few forecasts called for "feet" of snow but never really materialized, we'll see how it goes this time."

Two More FEET of Snow!!!

According to our friend Taichi master Mr. Shen at Heavenly, the latest snow report is terrific:

"Well, there was two more FEET of snow has fallen since the last report, with six feet of snow has fallen in the past seven days, Heavenly is now opened the whole mountain, and as well as “top to bottom”skiing. With that much snow falling in December, the indication is that it would be dry in January, which means we’ll be skiing the “sunny California skiing,”good stuff."
