In my earlier post I informed the group about a workshop on Open 511 data exchange specifications. The workshop was held on March 28, 2013 in Oakland, CA. It was a success with very good participation from developer community, our transportation partners, vendors, consultants, and MTC staff.
Representatives from San Francisco Mayor's Office of Innovation and BART shared their experience with open data in the morning session followed by a MTC presentation on the plan for Open 511 data. In the afternoon, more detail discussions were held in breakout sessions on open data for transit and traffic with a special focus on standard based 511 data APIs. Lively and informative conversations took place throughout the day-long event. Most of these conversations was captured in the attached summary report. Presentations from the morning and afternoon sessions are also attached.
Currently, we are finalizing the specification document based on the feedback we received in the workshop. We hope to publish within the next couple of weeks a version of the specification that we will use for our API development. Sometime later this year we anticipate our first version of APIs will be released.
Let me know if you have any question.
