ANC 1A is excited to introduce an Education Committee (EC) to serve in support of the commission and help better meet the needs of our schools and residents.We will work hard to serve the ANC by providing recommendations for action on matters that have impact on our community as it relates to education and serving area youth that the Commission can weigh in on within its official capacity.

The committee also seeks to keep the members of the community informed on relevant issues and updated on pending legislation and Council actions. It will explore community partnerships with public schools and encourage residents in 1A to volunteer and participate in working towards the improvement of the facilities and in support of personnel, policies, and progress of education for all persons within the District of Columbia, and, particularly, within the boundary of Commission area 1A.
