YRARC Public Service Event Appreciation

Today the YRARC attended the 2026 King Township Maplefest at Cold Creek Conservation Area. The radio team provided communications and visitor and vehicle management.

The attendance seemed to be down from previous years but all those who attended had a good time.  The event included maple syrup treats, the cooking/ preparation of maple syrup, a pancake breakfast as well as other exhibits ànd a walk through the trails.

The recent snowfall provided a challenge for King who scrambled in the early hours to open the roadways etc prior to the volunteers and vendors arrival.  The weather though not ideal was far better than the brutal temperatures and constant blowing snow experienced last year.
