Ottawa/Carp Ham Fest Auxiliary Communication demonstration Warning Orders

This Saturday, September 6th, 2025 is the Ottawa Amateur Radio Club (OARC) Ham Fest in Carp, Ontario.  This is the regions largest Ham Fest and a must attend event.  After the Ham Fest, the Radio Amateurs of Canada (RAC) will be having their annual general meeting at the same facility.

Several of the local and regional amateur radio operators will be conducting a demonstration/exercise during the Ham Fest to showcase the use of Winlink and ARDEN Mesh use in Auxiliary Communications. 

FallX25

To generate some Winlink traffic to showcase the capabilities of Winlink Express, FallX25 (Fall Exercise 2025) will be conducted all day on Friday September 5th, and Saturday morning of September 6th, 2025. 

Four amateur radio operators, Ian (VA3QT), Lance (VA3LP), Marcel (VE3UKW) and Stuart (VE3SMF) will be receiving Winlink Express messages as part of FallX25. 

What do we need from you?

1. Please let your local Auxiliary Communications/ARES groups know about this exercise. 
2. You and your team can send Winlink Messages by your favorite RF mode or by Telnet. 
3. A message can sent using:
- Message;
- New Message.
- Select Template
- General Forms
- Winlink Check-in Txt, is the best form to use.

Remember: This is for all day of Friday September 5th, and Saturday morning of September 6th, 2025. 

Why is this the best form?
If you enter your GPS location, FallX25 can display your check-in on a Canadian Map, and see active Canadian Winlink stations. 

To make sure all the FallX25 operators have lots of check-in data, please address your Message to 

VA3QT; VA3LP;VE3UKW;VE3SMF    (Hint: Cut and paste into the To: section of the form). 

You can also use your favorite Winlink forms, but remember to send to All the FallX25 stations. 

At the RAC Annual General Meeting, there will be some major announcements on the RAC initiative with the Government of Ontario.  Lots of good things happening that include the use of Winlink Express, Auxiliary Communications, and ARDEN Mesh.
