YRARC Call Out - Aurora 2025 Street Festival

The radio club has been asked again to support the Aurora Street Festival. This event is managed by the Aurora Chamber of Commerce.

Sunday June 1, 2025
Aurora Street Festival 2025 (Yonge Street in Aurora)
Time: 8:30am to 7:00pm (All day has been requested again this year) (Not mandatory if you cannot stay)
Trailer: Trailer and Puller Required.
Volunteers Needed: 16+ .
Radio Frequencies: To be determined.
Requirements: HT Radio (Dual Band if possible, Safety Vest, other items to be provided closer to the event)
Scope: Work with the Aurora Chamber of Commerce to:
· Assist with Road Closures (Approx 16 locations) from Wellington to Murray Street.
· Direct vendors to the approx Booth locations or direct them to a Festival Marshall.
· Keep general public vehicles off Yonge Street, but allow vendors etc. onto Yonge Street to unload and or set up.
· Remove vendor vehicles off Yonge street before 11am.
· Have presence on site during the day to monitor lost parents, injury and or illness. Work with YRP and EMS to assist as required.
· Demonstrate Amateur Radio via the trailer.
· At 5pm, Allow Vendors to bring vehicles back onto Yonge street to pack but keep the public off the streets until 6pm.
· Hold street closure to allow for street cleaning until 7pm.
