Hello, everyone.
Over the course of the past two weeks, we’ve given more staff a first glimpse of Workday through our second Change Roadshow, exploring how the transformation ties in with the future of work globally. Well over 600 staff signed up to join us, almost double the total of the first Change Roadshow sessions back in spring.
A huge thanks to everyone who helped spread the word and shared feedback during the sessions, and a special shout-out to Sophie Thompson, Mel Rose, Tom Knevitt, Clare Renwick, Kat Hesp, Tom Babington, Jenny Stonier and Laura Mansfield for managing the content and logistics.
Latest reflections
From your Roadshow feedback, and our working group discussions, there’s a lot of cautious optimism about our initial Workday launch in February – along with a few understandable nerves about the shift to managing tasks and processes through direct access.
To help address your top questions, we’ve added new details to several sections of the web hub:

Later this month, we’ll also post short videos covering key areas of interest: governance and accountability; data, insights and reporting; and using a single source of truth. Other areas like projects and grants are still being worked through (the Workday-Worktribe integration being the most complex to configure), so we really appreciate your patience as this takes shape.
The next focus will be to outline the training, development and support that will be available for colleagues, which will cover different areas in a lot more detail.
Cultural: Sessions exploring ‘What does it mean for me?’, and preparation for leaders and managers.
Functional: Online resources, deep-dive sessions and extra support around how to carry out processes in Workday.
Latest preparations
Back behind the scenes, we’re ramping up our readiness checks ahead of the first go-live.
Firstly, over 160 members of the Change Network will be joining us in workshops from this week to try Workday for themselves, checking that various processes and training materials are intuitive, with representation from as many roles, grades and departments as possible.
Secondly, we’ve kicked off the first of our ‘parallel payroll’ checks, where we run payroll using the data that’s been cleaned and moved into Workday, making sure it marries up with our current payroll process. This comes on the back of another monumental effort from our data and tech teams, and ties into the planning (and comms) taking shape around the transition from each of our current systems to Workday. We’ll explain any practicalities and preparations when they’ve been confirmed.
Thanks again, everyone. More soon.
All the best,
Transformation team
