Safe Doc Update v1.40.1

Hello Admins,

Just a friendly reminder that we've recently released Safe Doc version 1.40.1 of new policies to keep your students safe in Google Workspace for Education.

BlockMeetInDocs

The policy removes the Meet button in Google Docs, Sheets, Slides and Jamboard. 

BlockSearchableDriveShare

The policy removes the Can find in search results option in the Google Drive sharing dialog when a student shares their file within the school domain. Students may use this feature to share their homework with each other. 

BlockPrivateCommentInClassroom

This policy removes the Private Comment feature in Google Classroom's Classwork. Teachers may be overwhelmed by the number of private chat messages, so it may not be the best way for teachers <-> students or parents communication. 

BlockYoutubeInGoogleSearch

This policy prevents students from playing Youtube videos in Google Search results. Your school may block the Youtube main site, but these embedded videos in Google Search results just slip through. It's a viable solution if you'd like to let students watch legitimate Youtube videos shared by teachers, but also block inappropriate videos from Google Search. 

Adding these policies is easy in Google Admin Console. Follow the format as follows.
