Dear xFanatical Safe Doc community,
We're thrilled to share with you the recent product update in xFanatical Safe Doc v1.52.0. Here are the key points in the release.
New policy BlockStockAndWeb
Google introduced a new feature
Stock and Web in Google Slides, merging the image searching, GIFs and stickers and stock images into this category. The feature allows students to search online images, bypassing web filters. We're introducing the new policy
BlockStockAndWeb to block the feature to block the Stock and Web feature, while maintaining the compatibility with the existing image searching blocking policy and GIFs and stickers blocking policy for flexibility.
Extending blocking capability for existing policies
This version also extends the blocking capability of existing policies with evolving features in Google Workspace for Education. We’ve got it covered. You're in good hands and can rest easy.
- BlockGIFAndSticker. Google Slides changed the GIFs and stickers locations, so the policy is adjusted to block them accordingly.
- EnableImageSearch. Likewise, Safe Doc blocks the image searching in Stock and Web.
- BlockSlidesTemplates. Safe Doc blocks the Templates feature button on the right navigation bar in this version.
- BlockChatRooms. Safe Doc removes the group chatting and spaces feature in Google Chat as Google reorganized the space feature.
- BlockEmojis. Safe Doc continues to support blocking inappropriate emojis, selectively or everything, in Google Chat as Google Chat evolves. Students can message inappropriate emojis to others or set inappropriate emojis to spaces if they are space managers.
- EnableMeetChatOffCommand, EnableMeetCameraOffCommand and EnableMeetMicOffCommand. These policies allow teachers to force turning off chat/microphone/camera for particular students. Now the policies support blocking in the Picture-in-Picture mode in Google Meet.
- BlockMeetRaiseHand. Similarly, the policy continue to block the Raise hand ✋ feature in the Picture-in-Picture mode in Google Meet.
- BlockComments. The policy disables the commenting feature in Google Drive and Docs. The version made some changes to support blocking the commenting for images in Google Drive. Students are not allowed to comment on a shared image file in Google Drive.
Once again, thank you for being part of our journey! If you have any comments or requests, please simply
