Would it be possible to do something similar to what the Who's on First extension is doing? Looks like all they are doing is hiding the Join button and replacing with an element.
We do not allow students to create Meet meetings but if they find a Meet that was created without a nickname they can always join later - it remains an open session for like 90 days - Google does not have a way to expire them. We have been battling this for weeks and basically just blocking the Meets as we find them in our filtering software.

Yes, we will find a solution to this popular problem. Many schools reported that students reuse old Google Meet links without the teacher's presence. I believe Google's aware of this issue, but I haven't seen updates from Google.
