Dear IT admins,
The version history feature is useful for business uses, allowing teams to track and manage changes over time. However, for young students working on small assignments, this functionality may be less relevant. In fact, improper use of version history could result in unintended loss of information if not handled correctly. Additionally, teachers may have privacy concerns, as students could potentially access the document’s edit history, revealing how the assignment was constructed or even exposing answers or content from previous versions.
The policy prevents students from viewing earlier versions, restoring to earlier versions, copying an earlier version, creating a named version, seeing who made edits in a Google Docs, seeing who changed a specific cell in Google Sheets etc.
To enable the policies, simply add the policy with value true to your xFanatical Safe Doc JSON policy configuration.
