to Varsity Boys Parents
Hello All-

Our season has officially begun. It’s still cold but we can get out on the water! I just wanted to go over some season reminders and expectations for Varsity athletes.

Attendance is mandatory. We have exact numbers so if one athlete skips, 5 to 8 others are left on land that day. The athletes should have read their schools athletic code of conduct (we will go over it again this week). Now, if your child is sick, there’s a religious holiday, there’s a family emergency or I have spoken to them at the beginning of the season about certain exceptions , ALL practices are required. Side note- if your son is injured, I usually tell them to stay home and rest.

3 strike rule. I’m not too worried about the Varsity Boys but we need to maintain a level of respect and commitment. So , if a kid gets “3 strikes,” they miss the upcoming regatta. Examples: being disrespectful or talking back to coaches, bullying other athletes, hiding or not helping when we are loading for regattas and helping at races. Missing a lot of practices without contacting a coach or having a good reason. If something is going on, I will give parents a head’s up.

Saratoga Invitational! This trip is once again $360 (or somewhere around there) so I need to know right away if your son can’t attend. It’s completely okay but I need to register boats soon.

I’m very excited for this Spring Season and we have an amazing assistant coach!

Let me know if you have any questions.
