Bridging the Spectrum:
The 17th Annual Symposium on Scholarship and Practice
The Catholic University of America Pryzbyla Center
April 11, 2025
The Department of Information Sciences at Catholic University of America invites researchers, practitioners and students to join the 2025 Bridging the Spectrum Symposium, a forum for sharing research findings, best practices, and works-in-progress in library and information science. The 17th Symposium will be an in-person event.
For this Symposium, we are excited to feature a conversation with David Mao, Librarian of the Supreme Court of the United States as our keynote. Mr. Mao came to the Supreme Court with an eclectic and dynamic background, having served as chief operating officer at the Georgetown University Law Center and in a variety of roles at the Library of Congress, including as the 23rd Law Librarian of Congress, the Deputy Librarian of Congress, and acting Librarian of Congress. Mr. Mao earned his B.A. at The George Washington University in 1990, his J.D. at Georgetown University Law Center in 1993, and his M.S.L.S. at The Catholic University of America in 1998. Mr. Mao will be in conversation with Robert Newlen, Interim Director, Congressional Research Service.
In addition, we will have presentations on Artificial Intelligence and Libraries, Community Engagement and Services, Technology for Information Services, Services Innovations, and more.
We look forward to seeing you at the Symposium!
