Students with disabilities spend between 15 and 18 years in special education and the end result should be effective preparation for employment, continued education and life in the community. The secondary transition process can be complicated, and many families have questions as they navigate a confusing period in their youth's education. This session will explain the transition process, including how the focus of the IEP changes, and gives families tips for contributing to their student's individual transition plan to maximize the impact of special education.
