WorkAbility Works for All

(Thursday, April 30, 2026 – 10:10–10:40 a.m. & Friday, May 1, 2026 – 10:00–10:50 a.m.)
Focus will be on reviewing the current action plan and elevating program highlights from across the state, with a strong emphasis on CTE and trades. This is where we ensure our work is aligned, actionable, and reflective of what is working in the field.

Committee & Regional Updates

(Thursday, April 30, 2026 – 10:40 a.m.–12:25 p.m.)
Updates should be concise and outcome-focused, clearly tied to the action plan. This is our opportunity to highlight impact, reinforce alignment, and surface priorities as we look ahead to next year.

CDE Update & Apprenticeship Report

(Thursday, April 30, 2026 – 2:00–3:00 p.m. & 3:05–3:40 p.m.)
CDE will provide updates on the WAI grant and key developments, followed by the California Youth Apprenticeship Report. Together, these frame current priorities and future opportunities tied to student pathways and work-based learning.

CPCIDD Presentation

(Friday, May 1, 2026 – 8:45–9:45 a.m.)
Teresa Anderson from the CA Policy Center for Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities will present on employment challenges facing adults with disabilities in California. This provides important context for the outcomes we are working toward across all programs.

I also want to take a moment to recognize the work happening across the state. The success we are seeing in your programs, partnerships, and student outcomes matters. It reflects a strong commitment to this work and to the students we serve.

Thank you for the consistency, innovation, and follow-through you bring to your regions and teams. I look forward to what we will continue to build together next year.

Wishing you all a restful and restorative summer.

Best,

WAI CDE Advisory Board
