Hello WorkAbility, Region 5 Colleagues,

I’m writing to you today with a few important updates.

I know many of you are aware of our upcoming Region 5 meeting in Sacramento on September 29th, held in conjunction with Bridge to the Future 6. The interest in this event was incredible, and it has unfortunately reached capacity. We recognize this is disappointing for those who wanted to attend but were unable to register in time.

Even if you are not attending the meeting, your voice and participation are crucial for our region's success. We have two immediate and vital ways for you to be involved:

1. Region 5 Needs Assessment

Please take a few moments to complete our Region 5 Needs Assessment. You do not need to attend the meeting to provide your input. This feedback is essential and will help us guide and develop relevant trainings and support for the entire 2025-2026 academic year.

2. Call for Nominations: Region 5 Executive Committee

Serving on a state committee is one of the best ways to get involved, learn the intricacies of the WAI program, and represent our region. You do not need to attend the September meeting to run for a position. Due to recent changes, we have several vacancies. For more information about the roles and responsibilities of each position, please refer to the WorkAbility I Committee Handbook.

If you are interested in running for a position or would like to nominate a colleague, please complete the interest form below by Friday, September 12, 2025.

Per the WAI handbook, terms of service are for two years. Representatives must be funded by the WAI grant and be active members in good standing. Rep attendance at committee meetings is mandatory, while Alternates are highly encouraged to attend and are essential for filling vacancies.

  • Government Relations Committee (GRC) Rep (2 openings)

  • Mentor Alt

  • State and Regional Training (SRT) Alt

  • Technology, Education, Communication (TEC) Alt
