WorkAbility I Database System Update - June 3, 2025

We wanted to inform you of several important updates that were released today for the WorkAbility Database system (06/03/2025).
End of Year Reminder and Data Entry Timeline
As we approach the end of the WorkAbility I program year, we recognize that learning and navigating this new database system has presented challenges for everyone. We want to acknowledge the effort and patience you've all shown during this transition period. Despite the learning curve, we are confident that each of you will be able to successfully submit your end-of-year information by the deadline.
We strongly encourage all grantees to begin entering your program data as soon as possible. Early data entry allows sufficient time to:
- Identify and resolve any technical issues
- Ensure proper documentation of any submission problems
- Receive timely support from our team if needed
- Meet all reporting deadlines without last-minute complications
Getting your data entered early helps ensure a smooth submission process and provides adequate time to address any unexpected challenges that may arise.
Support Chain of Command - Please Follow This Process
To ensure you receive the most appropriate and timely assistance, please follow this support structure:
For questions about WHAT information to enter in the system:
- Contact your MENTOR representatives first

- They can provide guidance on data requirements and program-specific questions
For technical issues, database errors, or system malfunctions:
- Contact Katherine and me (TEC Representatives) FIRST
- Do NOT reach out directly to CDE until we have assessed the situation and directed you to do so
- This process helps us coordinate support and avoid overwhelming CDE with duplicate or misdirected requests
Following this chain of command ensures that you receive the right type of support quickly and helps us maintain clear communication channels throughout the reporting process.
Key System Improvements
CDE Reporting - Student Baseline and Follow Along Data Page The baseline data page has been significantly improved to make data management easier:
- Visual indicators: Green checkmarks show completed pages, red X's indicate corrections needed
- Enhanced functionality: You can now download lists of students with their respective baseline data
- Streamlined navigation: Use the new "Return to Baselines" button (top right corner) to easily navigate back to the student list after making corrections
CDE Reporting - Submit Follow-Up Data Page Similar improvements have been made to the follow-up data page:
- Clear status indicators: Green checkmarks for complete data, red X's for items needing attention
- Download capability: Export student lists with follow-up data for your records
- Improved workflow: Use the "Return to Follow-Ups" button (top right corner) to return to the main student list after updates
Bug Fixes Completed
- Annual Program Report: Fixed the N/A value display issue on Page 2 for paid employment positions (this was not affecting report submissions)
- Budget Revision: Corrected the display issue on Page 3 where weeks were showing instead of months for Certificated and Classified line items in the OR section
Performance Improvements
The development team has been actively addressing database performance issues including timeouts and slow page loading. Several updates have been released with more improvements coming soon. We appreciate your patience as these enhancements continue to roll out.
Important Browser Notice
Please note: A recent Safari browser update is currently preventing users from saving Array of Services. We recommend using Chrome, Firefox, or Edge browsers while this issue is being resolved.
