Hi All!
I have some exciting news that I have the privilege to share:
The Music Theatre Guild of Victoria open judging panel has invited us to join a shortlist of performances to be considered to perform at the 2025 annual awards night on 13 December 2025, location Camberwell Grammar, 55 Mont Albert Road, Canterbury, VIC, 3126.
The panel would like to shortlist your performance of
Money, Money, Money from your production of Mamma Mia!.
What this shortlisting means:- The performance is being considered for inclusion in the awards night. Acceptance on this shortlist does not guarantee inclusion on the night. (I personally know from the Guilds perspective how this process works because I was the Music Director of last years ceremony - I hold no grudge to the creative team of the ceremony for this selection process)
- The performance must replicate that seen by the judging panel – there are to be no additional cast members included.
- You may be required to retain any other items necessary for the performance (e.g. costumes).
- On the day of the awards ceremony, there will be a rehearsal with the orchestra which requires mandatory attendance. Times will be confirmed closer to the date.
- It would be customary for Windmill to then book some additional rehearsals in the weeks prior.
For now, this email serves to let you all know that this is some exciting news!
Making it to the shortlist is a celebratable thing, as it meant that the panel considered the number as something performance worthy at the awards ceremony.
From here, I will work with the Windmill team to prepare some possible rehearsal dates and lock in our creative team to make themselves available to re-teach (looking at Baz and Guada and Lui for how busy we will all be in November).
Bless you all, enjoy the exciting news, and we will be back in touch!
Best Wishes,
Peter Verhagen
