Hello, Digital Stewardship Community of Practice!
A few education resources below:
The University of Michigan Library's OCEAN (Open Copyright Education Advisory Network) is hosting upcoming free webinars on deeds of gift and negotiating permissions. They also have recordings of older webinars on copyright basics.
Here at WiLS, we're hosting a WiLS World Short on May 12 (hosted by yours truly!) and containing lessons learned from our 2021 Digital Readiness Fairs: "Plan, Practice, Perform: Pulling Off Virtual Events and Making It Look Easy." Read more and register here to gain valuable insights on executing virtual and hybrid events.
Local Government Records Archivist Andrew Baraniak with the Wisconsin Historical Society recently presented a webinar on Local Historical Societies and Local Government Records. Check out the recording here.
And a funding opportunity:
The Wisconsin Historical Society's mini-grant program is open for applications until May 16, 2022. Do you have a project that needs funding support? Each spring, WHS affiliates can apply for grants up to $700 for projects and activities that support collections care and management. This is a great opportunity for small organizations that need a scanner or other digitization equipment!
Funding opportunity reminder:
The WiLS Ideas to Action Fund application period is open until June 6, 2022. The WiLS Ideas to Action Fund provides grants of up to $5,000 so member organizations can bring their project ideas to life. —
